Haha! I didn't see a lives counter, so I was determined to get through it without dying instead of playing the game again. Hurray for circle strafing.

Despite a few flaws(most of which are only there because I was trying to find the secret, and tried to exploit everything.)The demo was amazing, the wraith and spiders and werewolves were great, the spell stones would have been cool to have a little animation and a little texture fixing but otherwise were great.(did they do different amounts of damage?) So overall one of if not the best fpsc games I've ever played.

i apoliogize to all those great fpsc users and game makers out there but: THAT WAS THE ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY BEST AND PROBABLY ALWAYS THE BEST FPSC (X9) GAME I EVER (WILL EVER) PLAY!!!!! (capps off ) that was beatiful at the beggining and everything was perfect!
Quote: "I killed all the werewolves without dying"

me too

the only thing i didnt like is the resolution. its not putting my GeForce 8800 GTX OC card to use. couldnt you make the exact same thing but switch it to high res and just have 2 executables? because this game was nearly perfect and with a really high res it would be perfect. another question: are those stones going to be the only weapons in the game? couldnt you have a sword or a magic staff? just to add more variety.

overall i give it a 20/10 and i strongly recomend ( after you boost the resolution ) you get this published and go commercial. heck, i even think this could end up in a box at Wal-Mart if you make the rest of the game as good. i can tell that this took time and everything is amazing. i really think you should finish this and make it a box product. ( set the record for being the first fpsc game to be sold in stores.) i liked it better than some of the games i own that come in a box. ( liked better than: portal, armored core 4, spiderman 3, rainbow six vegas [the psp version], i even liked it 75% as much as i liked Oblivion. a great game and truley a fpsc masterpiece, it looked like a lower res oblivion ( if you ever played Oblivion you have to admit it does look like it a lot. ) so i wish good luck and remember: GET THIS IN A FRIGGIN STORE!

what doesn't kill me makes me stronger; but if something kills me, I'm not that strong am I?

Chees hed, thanks and high praise indeed,I am talking to s4 at this very moment and he is going to sort out something with the resolution for folks who want it

As for this demo its mostly been a learning experience and a lot of it wont make it into the final game,I would really like to make it more original so it wont be compared to any other game, with a more unique design.

best rolfy

Sorry Astek I didn't mean to ignore you,you should have found an issue lol, your opinion is valued and yes you are correct as I said above a lot more work will be done for the final game, this whole thing is just about getting my media into FPSC so its not perfect but I can now build on the knowledge I have gleaned from it and with the work of others including yourself I expect to see some really amazing things done in this software.
To me this better than an engine thats perfect cos it brings out the best in folks willing to rise to the challenge and gets them working together.

I feel what you're getting at rolfy. And it just hit me... I forgot to mention the very low frame rate in the the middle of the beginning area. I'm sure you'll see to that soon. Nice work once again rolfy.

Rolfy,

first things first:this is the best FPSC game I've played. I would buy this game!
The only thing I didn't like was the voice work on the little guy, I didn't understand what he said but the rest was very good. I would like to have more gemstones too, because I got to the great hall with only 2 left!
It's one of the best FPSC engine uses, because you cleverly use fake shadows and so that make the user get even more in the game, because it looks credible. BTW, in my PC I never got below 24 fps, which is good, with the engine we all know. and last, sometimes the ESC doesn't work, sometimes it does.
If you'd like, I'd do the voice work, I've done cartoon voice work before.

The game is good so far, but I am stuck in the Great Hall. How do you get passed this darn maze? All the options seem to turn to dead ends, then the walls fall down...

you walk up to hs house and you get ke, buha the same problem. the door that says "door locked" isnt the door the key is used for. its actually the door BEHIND you when you first start, i think its a bug. but i hope you can enjoy the rest of the game.

i found the way out on my 5th try there is a way, you just have to use process of elimination.

Professor Sixus, is easy enough to understand, if the volume is high enough. I love the way his voice sounds,it fits his character look perfectly.

Have to agree....anyway the game is very very good!
Played it and loved the level design!

But! I had two bugs...1 in the first level when i wanted to find the secret area...i thought maybe there was a wall that you could walk through....instead..i got stuck.
So i had to restart the game and play it over.
This time i got to level 4 with the werewolf.
The first time i encountered the werewolf i walked to the wall and shot him... he died... and i got stuck

Anyway the game is very good!
Loved the little puzzle with the wraith!
And most of all! I really enjoyed this demo!

Yes, it is a great game, but I would like to ask something:
Am I supposed to kill this ghost, or just run away and try to find an exit?

I've also found some buggy areas, where you can stuck and / or the frame rate drops, but I guess that's not rolfy's falt...

Thats strange there should be a lot of werewolfs, most other folk seem to have encountered them.

Hehe.

There are bound to be areas where I haven't seen these faults,I did bounce myself off as many things as I could to test the game and beta testers didn't mention any of these, everyone seems to have different problem areas

I will check out and try to repair any problems for an update if folks let me know in more detail, where the problem is... etc

I can tell you how to beat the maze... which is really common sense. Walking all the way wont get you to the end in time. I've done forgot the correct path but you should press (Shift) to run through the maze... that is AFTER you pull the lever to make it appear. Also... if you get anywhere near that spirit... he will rape you until you die. I have found no way to kill him as of yet. Hes invincible.

@-ROLFY

One question. The area with the waterfall... is it suppost to have the door in the top of the area be there and the rest of the wall be gone to fall into a valley or something? No wall showed up there is there was suppost to be one. Will post screenshot later if I can.

That's exactly what I've done (at least 10 times) and I thought I am wasting my time. At least I know for sure I have to run now, thanks! The Shift button is not working (I think) and I see no difference while holding it, but I'll keep trying tomorrow.

played the demo, was really really cool

the place where you spawn first of all was really detailed, a great first impression (how the hell did you get those light-maps so freakin' sharp to show the leaves though i have a feeling it might not be the light-maps )

^^ that might have been mentioned already, haven't read everything

the rest of the demo was really good as well, i really loved that maze with the timer! got pretty confused at the end, i kept killing but there didn't seem to be a noticeable objective for a while, hehe

the hallways were REALLY nice, and the arches etc.

cut-scene was weird, didn't really take much in from the high voice, and i couldn't understand why he was unable to talk without flapping his arms in random directions, at one point i couldn't determine whether or not he was giving me the keys or going into a fit of mental rage/demonic possession and trying to throw them at me (j/k, understand how hard it must be to sync the sound with animation etc. it was actually a very nice cut-scene)

music was great, pretty inspiring too, would've been really cool to here some background/ambient noise in the game too.

looking forward to the full thing, i and everyone here knows it is going to be FREAKIN' EPIC!

I found a bug.... I think... unless, you're supposed to be ALLOWED to walk through the fake door in the wolfbane level (the one that opens up to just a wall) and kill yourself.

Beautiful game! I loved the weapon idea, whoever's idea that was. There were many collision bugs in the initial spawn room of the garden ( was trying to walk behind the tree and got stuck, had to do the crouch maneuver to get out), but other than that there were very few areas that I found glitchy. Ones of note were the cliff, where I ran up to the edge, and it APPEARED as though I was being prevented from walking off, so I gazed up to look at the sky and I guess you could say I "felt" something wrong.... I looked back and I was falling! lmao, I had to laugh at that, cuz it took me a while to realise it.

One thing bugged me.... you had very little room for error when it came to shooting spiders, due to the very small amount of "crystal power" you're initally given to each gem. I was completely out of ammo by the time I got to the maze, and so I had to make a run for it (perhaps you were supposed to do that anyway, lol)

All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed myself playing this little gem. I'm sure once you're finished, this will be an INSTANT FPSC CLASSIC and you will have a nice little gun trophy next to your avatar.

[Developer info]

Running on Vista, had no issues whatsoever.
Slight lag in certain areas, I suspect it to be the fault of FPSC's known "leaks".

I think he may have mentioned baking (wrong term, but I can't think of the proper one) the shadows onto the ground textures. The same with some of the light on the floors (by windows, etc.). Rolfy is extremely creative with environmental asthetics. Heading to town today; should have a copy by tonight. Send me the usual BOTB request packet when you get a chance, Rolfy.

Seems there are a few issues, some are very easy to fix, some are not so easy (glitches appearing for some folk and not for others).
Many thanks all for pointing these things out for me.
Its been a lot to keep on top of,and my first game, so its good experience, great fun too.

Quote: "how the hell did you get those light-maps so freakin' sharp to show the leaves though i have a feeling it might not be the light-maps"

Keith is correct, the scene is created and lit in Max then textures are baked and exported, there are still a few lights placed in FPSC to light areas that may need it.

Quote: "i couldn't understand why he was unable to talk without flapping his arms in random directions"

I really do know folk like that
Its a known fact that people have problems with my accent combined with the effect on voice, consider part of the puzzle

Quote: "I looked back and I was falling!"

There is an invisible barrier there to stop you walking off, I have no idea why you fell

It may seem that you are short of ammo in first area,if you get through the maze and have no ammo I am sure you will find some when you leave the great hall.
How you progress in one level, could determine whether or not you can complete the next.

Quote: "This is just sad, I reinstalled .net 2.0 and then I installed .net 3.5. Still won't work."

Cash Curtis II,sorry your having problems even running the game, hope s4 had the answer for you above.

There seems to be a bug in your game...

I loaded a saved game in The Keep, then completed the level and once it was done loading it immediately went back to the main menu screen. I didn't even get put intot he level, it just ran the loading screena nd once it was done it went to "Please Wait" and then Menu...

This is a known problem, there is no save load on menu screen.

You can use quick save and load during the game and it will work fine, but if you die or exit to menu you will find that the loaded game kicks you back to first level when the saved level ends and then exits back to menu.
I dont think this is impossible to fix and is another thing to look at for an update.
