Have you setup any obstacles in the map, otherwise the A.I entities will be able to see through walls. Also, if you created a zone then the entities will know where you are regardless of whether they can see you or not.

In manual mode you have full control over the entities, you just query the A.I system for advice on what it thinks you should do with the entities. Also, this mode is useful when you are using a physics system in conjunction with the A.I.
