I'm guessing it's a flashlight.

Nope, although a flashlight would be nice, its a simple shader to multiply the textures of the lightmap to make them brighter. No more dull DBPro lighting for me

Thanks to Green Gandalf and Lost In Thought!

Why is that shader essential?

I will not have the horrible looking dull lightmaps, therefor, you need shader 1.4

Pixel shader 1.4 isn't too hard to come by anyway, I'm sure 99% of people should have PS 1.4

Here is a video of the engine as it stands, it includes the enemies (first look lol) physics, decals, bulletholes, sparks and more.

It also shows my cool menu pointer. Useless but looks cool!

Looks GREAT!!! Love the Decals! Physics a bit touchy still IMHO. Like... When I walk into a 55 gallon drum...empty even... I would barely move it and like fall over it LOL. Shooting Also I don't think should launch a barrel across a room. I'm also very aware that honing the physics "behavior" down.. materials etc... Is probably your last priority as the game is moving forward - I totally understand and that's how II is... Things I get working... and then later I'll add the final touches like getting the physics forces as close as I can

Great JOB! Keep up the good Work!

Lookin good mate

You'll need to adjust the AI so that if you come a certain distance to the dead guy, it comes after you, instead of having to shoot it to make it come after you.

The brass looks like pistol ammo, I think you should change it to look more like rifle rounds.

Nathan.. The dull lightmapping can be fixed without shader too.. Just add 3 to final parm at load object.

I dunno if it has some proplems but it works.. Tho if you get proplems use the shader

Thank you Roxas!!

I'll try the method when I wake up.

Although right now I am drunk, so I cannot code efficiently.

But if it works, I'll use it, if not the shader is good.

@kaedroho

Thank you for the kind words, they inspire me to carry on til the end!

Yep it works!

Roxas, you legend, thank you.

I've decided to implement a shader for flashlight! So you'll still need some shader support, just don't know what version yet.

More news/screens soon!

Nope, because a ghosted plain is horrible and DBP lighting is horrible, espiecially with light mapping.

Just screens and news. Maybe, a tech demo, when the engine is 100% done. (I mean 100%)

There was something like that static in Mass Effect. The static in that, though, was like really small, just enough to make the experiance more film-like, if you get me.

Concluding: 100%? You mean, halfway done?

So Bobert is afraid of the 'hide object' and 'show object' commands

jk Now while I didn't personally think the demo was very scary I could easily picture it being scary. It needed to be darker, with maybe some flickering lights and stuff like that, but otherwise the ingredients were all there. Keep up the good work.

Tho most of us prefer 'exclude object on' and 'exclude object off' commands

I bricked it with the spooky ghost coming towards the screen.

VERY good work man.

Just do me a favour and fix the one thing I hate about DBP games: the main menu sprites appear before the 3d behind it.

Lets see what happens *jumps out of my seat, hides under a pillow*.

What you need to do is speed that bit up, it gets boring.
