I made my girlfriend a photo frame...

Then, I wrote a Wiki How for it.

How to Make a Valentines Photo Frame Collage

She loved it

She took me to one of those Make your own Bear places - it was great!

I sent my girlfriend 10 valentine cards...

She once told me how she always waited for a card but never got one. Decided to make up for that. I think she liked that .

I sat in my bed room all day in bed because I was ill, with no girlfriend or anyone to send a valentines card...you're all horrible to us a lonely hearts, we're as miserable as it is without you lot shoving it in our faces.

Well I'm just messing around, hope you all had a fun valentines day and made some pleased girlfriends/wives or even made some girlfriends, I should have gotten in the spirit, but I've been restricted to my bed and laptop for most of the week.

Hmmm... my valentines day wasn't super happy but an event that day did open the door for me to send a hug over facebook to a certain female friend yesterday. Yes... that's like horribly geeky but she lives 2 hours away at college LOL. She sent one back so thats a good sign, no?

The circumstances were not really romantic though. The "hug" was a thanks for allowing me pour out my emotions over AIM about putting our dog to sleep. Yeah... that sucked putting her to sleep. Argh. Depressing Valentines season.

Some reason I feel really really geeky now and I probably shouldn't have posted this. I hope someone laughs.

That's what I felt like doing as well, but nooo, work just had to get in the way. Still had a great night out with my better half though. (no, not wife, just gf.)

Just joking man, sorry for your loss. And hey, i'm available for free hugs 24/7! All you have to do is get a $2000 plane over to Australia, but hey, my hugs are worth millions, $2000 is nothing compared to my hug.

Yeah, we went to the one at Penrith (my GF works at the shopping center), but they were almost all out of Bears, so we had to go to the one at Castle Hill.

You must have been unlucky, the only people I saw in there was a guy making one for his GF, and another two couples doing the same thing she was doing for me

Seppuku, if you're just going to be depressing, then go somewhere else.
Nah, just kidding I know the feeling though, it's not great, but at least you got plenty of time to get things done on your lappy

Agent, sorry for your loss, mate. My dog's getting old, and I live away from home, so I get worried she's gonna chew her last bone (as it were) while I'm away

Valentine's Day is stupid, I'm sorry to say. I'm married, and spend every day with my wife, so why do I need to have a day to recognize that I spend every day with my wife? Why do I need other people to tell me to give a gift or buy something or make seomthing for her? I can do that randomly, and I don't need Hallmark telling to to do it. Thankfully my wife agrees.

I had to work late on VDay and my wife was at home writing a paper for class anyway

Yeah, but we don't have wives, we have girlfriends, so we don't sleep in the same bed, or live under the same roof.

As was I amigo. Well the man flu and bed was true, so if you want to give me sympathy for staying in bed, please do, apparently sympathy is the best cure for man flu.

Jeku, I can understand what you're saying and Valentines Day is a commercial holiday, and why should we do this at anytime of the year when people show their love anyway. Well I think as Valentines Day is there it's an opportunity for certain people to make what they wish to make of the day - it's an excuse for lonely hearts to pick up the confidence and ask the little special someone to do something or it's an excuse to be really romantic...or to spend loads on material wealth with your special someone instead of doing something and make the shops happy. Or do nothing, which is perfectly fine as long as it makes the couples happy.

Jeku, I understand

That's why I don't go in for the material things - I made her something useful (photo frame), and she got me a teddy (which I will sleep with every night since we live about 2hrs from eachother ).

Don't get me wrong though, even months before Valentine's Day, I was making her things, and sharing the love with her (spending time at picnics, reading together, and just enjoying eachothers company, etc), so VDay wasn't terribly out of the ordinary, but it was special none-the-less

Quote: "so if you want to give me sympathy for staying in bed, please do"

was expecting my valentines day to be more of a "singles awareness day", but i actually slept through most of it, then spent the afternoon running around uni trying to get coursework handed in, by the time i had a chance to remember what day it was, i didnt care :/

probably glad too, i imagine im probably a few quids richer than if i had a gf, and whats the point of valentines day anyway? why's it so special that you have to celebrate loved ones any more than anyother day of the year. i dont mean to sound bitter about it, because i honestly am not bothered, but I can't help but feel it slowly turning into the same commercial bandwagon xmas has become..

ps, plz can we have a mroe informative screenshot that "a valentines minigame"?

Why do we celebrate any holiday on a given day? I've never purchased anything for anybody on valentines day, the girls just love you all the more when you make them something instead, or buy a present for them that you might buy anyways.

I originally wasn't planning on getting anything, but my co-worker made me feel guilty and I spent 6 hours at work considering to buy a giant piece of chocolate on sale at our store, and in the end decided not to, as I've just only started seeing the girl anyway.

She worked late that night and I never got to see her. Whew!

Soon you'll learn that if a woman is into VDay and you don't see her that day, you will have to make up for it another night. You can't just skip it, unfortunately.

Indeed, I got my first girlfriend at 3 old, my second at 5 years old (she lasted until I was 10) Then my next two were when I was 11 and then 12...after that, no one - that's puberty for you folks.

'Too young', well I sincerely doubt that - a relationship is good as long as you're happy. I doubt many users are 12 or younger.

Well, I'm a bit opposed to the current culture of "when you want one, you can have one". I'm actually opposed to the whole promiscuous culture nowadays - I prefer the idea of a serious relation above that of a 'girlfriend'.

I just never have had a girlfriend. Few are deranged enough to even want to have a lengthy (i.e. over 30 seconds) conversation with me. Probably my own fault in some way.

I think people'd agree with you (I do)...I suppose girls being 'one' (at least here) is a reference when talking about things broadly.

But the actual 'someone is an object culture' then I think there is definitely a lot more to be valued there, but hey those who don't value what they got often lose it and suffer because of it (just watch your favourite chat show to see it happen on public television)

In Hollywood, yes. In reality, sadly no. Go to any bar or nightclub and you'll see hotties arm-in-arm with buttholes and douchebags. That used to irritate me when I was in University--- seeing the good looking women with the arrogant bad-boys who treated them like dirt. Women throughout history want what they can't have. Most guys out there are easy pickings for a hot girl, so there's no game. If you know what I mean.

Hehe, I just love it when single, bitter nerds in general complain about "the whole system" of hotties and badboys. It's real easy to hate the game, when you're on the losing end.

No ill feelings of course to my amigos Sepp and Jake. Even if Sepp never had a gf, we still dig you man.

I hate the game, but more because of, as Jeku said, the value people attach to relations and people, and even more I despise the general acceptance of just hopping around from prey to prey.

My girlfriend has been with me for, what, almost 1.5 years - so that's not it. I'm on the best side of the "game", far above that promiscuity, as far as I'm concerned.

My problem is that I do respect human beings more than they seem to respect themselves, at times.

I have!...cough *when I was 12*

I suppose Jeku is right, in most respects - I mean I probably was thinking karma too much - luckily I also see 'hotties' arm in arm with decent blokes...even in night clubs and they seem contempt But hey, I suppose where I'm studying, a-holes are a rarity.

For the record, I'm the kind of nerd that doesn't blame the system, instead I blame puberty and society (and Scooby Doo)
