Fpsc dx10, multiple enemies, 50 + enemies on screen at once, thats great, but just how many can we have, can I make a level with say 15 rooms and stick 50 enemies in each of all the rooms and be able to play the game with good frames, just what is possible with fpsc dx10.

I'm pretty sure it's just 50 for the whole map.

I assume that The characters are all cloned , so there really shouldn't be a limit, but why in the world would you want that many characters?

I've done 20 in one room with shadows and best quality settings. My frame rate dropped to about 25. Pretty good!

I'm gonna go for it.

I'll do the 50 person in one room test, 100 person in 2 room test, and lastly, a 200 person in 4 room test to see my framerates. Check the thread in a little while for results.

***RESULTS***
Ok, so I just finished the test and here are my results.
I used Aiko (pistol) as my enemies, and I had no weapon equipped, no water, but all quality was set to the highest.

50 people in 1 room gives me 58-60 frames per second
100 people in 2 rooms gives me around 44-46 frames per second
200 people in 4 rooms gives me around 30-32 frames per second

was that 200 in each room, or 50 people in each of the 4 rooms?

Did you have lights or just go with ambience?

Now that there is X10. People are forgetting about using a trigger to spawn enemies to save framerate

If you are reading this, you are a very [weird] person.

Didn't forget. However I would like a large battle scene to end one of my levels. The question is how large? Granted it's all dependent on the users' hardware.

It will be interesting to see how many can be triggered at one time.

Cant it be made so that the AI is on when in view and switched off when not in view, otherwise we are limited to how many enemies total in a game. This is being sold as a tool that allows a mass of enemies at once, yep thats nice, but if its only in one room, or that the maps total has to be taken into effect then its redundant.
