A demo? What do you mean by that? On my Vector3 site, I will update the download with the most current version of Vector3...

But if you mean make a small maze game with a bunch of different lighmapped levels to demonstrate the power of Vector3, then I might start working on something like that.

Thanks!

PS-- How is your editor comming? Is there a site for it? Do you have a demo?

The screens look quite promising, even though they are _much_ to colorful.
Making a demonstration-game with your editor would probably be a good idea. I would play it.
And apart from that you could upload a video of the level creation process, because probably most people (including me) are to lazy to download your editor and learn how it works just to get an overview about it.
Good luck, have fun..

Luke, this is coming along very nicely.

Personally, I like the garish colors. (Not really, but I am glad that you got the texturing sorted, as well as the DL issue.)

Thanks a lot, guys! I actually do not know how to create a video of onscreen events... Any ideas?

Tha colors are just for show. If you were to actually create a game with all of the colors, it would get nerve racking.

I will work on a demo game, and try to figure out how to record a video.

Thanks again!

@ I will probably not make a WIP of it.
The reasons are:
- I am not good at keeping timelines and stuff
- I am afraid to screw it up

But, when it is finished, i will probably announce it

Right now i am working on adding physics

@ My favorite is "Cam studio". You can set it to zoom on the mouse and stuff And it is fast

Yes, I just download Cam Studio... I think it is great, except on my system it is really slow. Maybe because Vector3 running as well as being recorded lags a lot of memory. Vector3 is VERY slow, right now. BlueGUI isn't my first GUI choice, when selecting upon speed.

I have improved Cam Studio's framerate, but it is altogether slow. Oh well, I will make of what I've got!

OK, I have found a great recording program called Screen Recorder Gold... The only problem is, is that it puts a watermark on the top left corner of the video, stating that I used the program in its trial version.

Anyways, I have a video on YouTube... I am not a big YouTube user, please keep in mind. The link is:

Thanks for all you you guys' support!

The video, linked to above, first shows and describes how easy Vector3 is to operate, with only the mouse and arrowkeys. The video shows the texturing of objects, and stacking primitives on top of each other, as well as flipping them upside-down... The latter of the video shows my lightmapping program, Lumenous Flux, in action, lightmapping the extremely simple world created with Vector3...

Please offer your comments about the video, and/or the content!

Wow... 6 fps is not healthy

You can use some other screen recorders too.

Fraps is a nice and free program.
It is easy to use but trial is only 30 second of recording...

When you are finished making your video, you can try to edit it inside a movie editing program and speed it up maybe.

You have a very cool HUD btw for Vector3!

Phew! I absolutely HATE Microsoft! They always have to make things rediculously complicated! Anyways,

Vector3 is almost complete! All I need to impliment, are Selecting/editing objects, Help Files, and Right-Click Menus... After all of that, the world editor will be finished. I will then begin work on my lightmapper, Lumenous Flux.

@Bergice - I finally got my MSN to work. As I said, Microsoft makes things complicated.

Everybody -- I really need your opinions! Go to the site below, and look at the screen shots, as well as the list of features. Please post back what you think, and don't download Vector3 because it isn't the best version...

There isnt really that much more to say
It looks mostly finished.

What i suggest you do now is:

- Add the last features
- Put some extra cool features so we have something to try out and gasp of
- Go through every function about 3 times and look for bugs

Then thou shall be complete... Muahaha

Still working on help files... These are not your typical ones that are created from HTML... I am making these in a neat program, and they are in the form of an EXE... Pretty neat, and very interactive so far.

I am working on making an installer for Vector3 so it can be a little more professional than just a ZIP file.

I'll admit right away that I, for one, like the psychedelic overcolorful version of things. Looking good and slick, keep that up .

Why, thank you very much! Everyone! I have an installer for the most current version of Vector3... It is available at the website I mentioned in my first post, and it is about 27MB... (For the textures that come with)...

I did NOT put the lightmapper in it, because it is operated mainly by the keyboard right now... I need to add a GUI to it... Please tell me what you think of Vector3, any bugs, and if you want to try out my lightmapper, Lumenous Flux...

Thanks a lot, you guys! The lightmapper does well, only I think I should have a GUI, so it will be done some time soon... The controls:

U=Layer Up
D=Layer Down
<space>=Lightmap
H=Hide Grid
S=Show Grid
<press+hold>C=Color wheel - Click on a color to set the light color
E=DBO Export

Finally! I promised you guys a demonstration, and here it is! I did it all today... Anyways, it is not a maze game... It is just a world created in Vector3, and the camera automatically navigates from start to finish... All you do, is sit back, and look at the world around you

It is a stand alone EXE, so you don't have to download it. I will not post screenshots, because it would ruin the surprise

I have actually managed to get Vector3 up to about 30 FPS! When objects are not being seen by the camera, they are scaled down to 1x1x1... Then they are instantly returned to 10x10x10 when the camera is looking at them... Are there any other ways to improve framerate?

Instead of scaling then try using the "exclude object" command.

There is no exclude object command. You may be thinking in DB Classic. I am using DBPro to create this program.

Thanks, though!

EDIT: I have remade the Vector3 website. It looks much nicer, and is easy on the eyes

I have found a couple more bugs, and I am going to make it detect what your video hardware can support, then change the resolution or depth accordingly...

Should I add Dark Physics into Vector3? It would have to be a seperate program, and I think it could go well with the lightmapper, Lumenous Flux, and Vector3.

Looks good, but i think that there are some bugs with the objects, because you can see some bugs when you move the camera, and get some seamless textures would be good

I like seamless textures...

Well in the Vec3 installer, I only included about 40-50 textures, randomly selected... In my actual texture bank, I have maybe 670 images, thanks to Bergice

Anyways, the Textures folder is there for you to add your own textures and images, so you can have some freedom in texture selecting
