Hello All,
Anyone know of a way to achieve soft particles or something close to it? Even round particles would work... square ones are a little... eh..

Also, how would I texture the particles? Just texture the emitter object?

Thanks in advance,
Jim

Correct me if I'm wrong but, aren't soft particles a part of DirectX 10?

To create round particles just create an alpha mapped texture, if you take a look at the exmaples provided in the DarkPhysics projects directory there is some reasonably nice looking effects in there. To texture the particles you just texture the emitter object like you said.

Much good work is lost for the lack of a little more.

I'm currently in the process of a total re-install of OS and all software, so when I get my system up and running again I will take a look. Is there any chance you could post a copy of the image you are trying to use please?

tried setting transparency on... no good...

setting ghost works... but I lose the beautiful gradient I had... it's just a circle

can you post the code you used to set alpha mapping on and how you applied the alpha texture to it.
