I found a way to give one object 100 ambient light (although you guys probably knew this years ago):

set object [object #],1,1,1,1,0,1,1
As I walk through the vally of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil.

Whoa whats this? A fade object command? I heard about this but thought it was a new patch 5 feature. Its been there all along? How is it used? Youre talking a alpha fade right?

here you are

FADE OBJECT
This command will make the specified 3D object fade to the current ambient light level. With ambient light
set to zero and the object faded using a value of zero, the object will be completely unlit. With a fade
value of 200 its illumination will be doubled. With a fade value of 50, the illumination is halved. This
technique can also be used with a ghosted object to slowly fade an object until completely invisible. The
parameter should be specified using an integer value.

SYNTAX
FADE OBJECT Object Number, Fade Value

"He will come...the voice from the outer world,
bringing the holy war, the Jihad, which will cleanse the Universe and bring us out of darkness."

Hmm but wait can you make a solid non ghosted object go ghosted, then fade out, all in a seamlesly fashion? Seems to me like it would be too noticeable as soon as you turned ghosting on...

Dang just like I thought. Unless im just missing something, this CANT be used to fade out a solid object (looks like crap when going form solid to ghosted). Nuts you got me all excited attreid... is it true tho that full alpha control is possible in patch 5?
