hey one question just to be sure the name of the enemy or well the Target of the ally is in the FPE file of the entity and is the one in the description part im submiting a screenshot to show you if thats the name

do the allies use the script you put in the shoot section because if they do couldn't you use strafe as a script and then it would look better

It is not in the FPE file and I never said it was.
Download my pics that I made, and you will see what is needed to be for the script to work properly. (fyi the pics are on the first page towards the bottom)

@i need help
No the Shoot field dose not effect the ally script in anyway.

I apologize for any confusion within this thread.



Right now I am working on V4 of the ally script plus I will be making variations for the ally script such as a sniper ally, melee ally, etc...

If anyone has any suggestions for new ally features please post here on this thread.

melee ally is a great idea but will it be using the melee script from one of the updates or will it be able to use melee weapons like the ones on the fpsc store by errant AI

The melee ally would be just like the normal ally script except he would go into close range to fight.

In OTHERWORDS it would be a combination of the ally script and melee script in one.

V4 of the Ally script's release date is pending.

I have been working out some bugs and doing away with some restictions.

Just be patient after all my time has been limited lately.

when I press z the ally just stands there and shoots. he doesn't aim or anything. i changed the script so that it will fire at the enemy (Nazi) exactly as you said in the readme, GamerX. this is Version 4. can you please tell me what's wrong?

Does this system work with multi-player, because that would be cool? Using a money system choosing allies for money, if wanted, assisting in your frags.

Man you talk alot about MP

No this script is made for single player games only because I got tired of people asking for the ally script when it did not exist. Sooo... I made the script as my first script to released and it took awhile to get the info to all new creators.

I talk about MP alot because the game I am currently making is MP only, and requires a lot of scripting . Also good job on the script it is great!

It works very well, except for a few things:

You cannot stop the ally from walking forward.
You cannot stop the ally from shooting enemies.
The ally shoots at targets even when not visible (through walls, etc).
The ally should play an animation whilst moving sideward (strafe anim.)
Is there a command to make the ally stop doing what he's doing and follow you again?
And, the ally picks a random enemy target, no matter how far away. For example, he will start shooting a target a mile away instead of the one right next to him.

Otherwise, it's very good.

A starting Games Designer. Need levels, characters and anything drawn and designed? Let me know...

Yes this script been around for awhile now... It was my first script that I posted.

@Minimovies Inc

I am not sure way he does that but i will try and fix it.
The "B" key makes him stop what he is doing and turn around and retreat.
I will work on the animations.
He does not pick up random targets he simple shoots the targets in the order that you put them in the level.(bad bug no way around it yet)
You should be glad that you are not using V1 of the script.(the script came a long ways)

This script is mod free and always will be in case you think I should have a mod to make it.

Is there anything that is not list here that you guys would like to see put in the ally script.

1.ally having better targeting and shooting(can not really be helped without more scripting codes added)
2.more bugs worked out

I figured that I will keep all of you people informed upon the ally script Version 6

Here is the progress made so far...

Fixed the shooting and targeting aspect of the ally (with the exception of the ally keep on shooting at nothing forever).
Gave the ally the ability to strafe from side to side.

big news all

I have given the enemy the ability to choose its targets, but with one or two bugs.

1. I have not got him to follow waypoints yet
2. he shoots you if he sees you and he shoots your ally if you are not seen.

expect it to come with ally pack v6!

BTW he has two script a main script and a shoot script.

What about if neither of you are seen? Does he try to shoot your ally through the wall?

very good question.

he only fires when he sees you or he is fired upon.

when he does see you he switches between you and your ally.

*EDIT*
added a new addition to the ally: If the ally is engaged in combat then walk in front of him and he will disengage.

Gamer X I'm having problems with this I set the vision cone o 1 so its deadly acurate (on my allies) set the name to Ally script to Ally_V6
the enemy's name to AI and the script to enemy (the enemy script wich comes with the ally script) then I play and my allies only crouch and do nothing.
Am I doing something wrong?

1. Have V6 of the ally script of course.
2. download these pics (download button)
3. make sure everything is setup like that.
4. Take two of these and talk to me later

well I've done as you said but still it does not work the ally just crouches when I press "Z" for him to attack and doesn't fire a shot.

How to set up your ally and enemy tutorial (no modified versions of the scripts)

By: Gamer X

1.Get Ally V6
2.Put the items in the corresponding folders
3.Start up FPSC and make a level with 1 ally and 1 enemy

Setting up your ally:
1.Right click on your ally
2.Change the name to “ally”
3.In the main field place the Ally V6.fpi script
4.Click accept changes
5.Ally done

Setting up your enemy:
1.Right click on your enemy
2.Change the name to “AI”
3.In the main field place the enemy_main.fpi script
4.In the shoot field place the enemy_shoot.fpi script
5.Click accept changes
6.Enemy done

Extra Info:
The view cone no longer matters
If you are looking to change the controls, they are located at the top of the script.

To change the way he reacts to enemies:
1.There is no way to make him shoot the enemy if he sees him.
2.If he is shot by an enemy, he automatically attacks

thanks for the help GamerX, you've done a great work man but it may be my fault or my pc's fault but it does not work very well for me (hey at least I've got allies!) they crouch and don't point the gun to the enemy while firing...wich is freaky but they shoot him.

Ok now!

I know I am not making any more ally script updates until there are some sufficient commands are added.

Which brings me to my next point.
A medic Script.

The medic follows you and heals you when your are hurt.
THE KEY COMMANDS

B - has the medic turn around, move back and crouch and stay out
of the way of fire.
C - has the medic crouch and stay until you call upon them.
H - Has the medic go toward you location.
M - has the medic heal you. The medic takes time to heal you but
heals you in increments of 10.
J - has the medic jump, same as the ally.

I know that there are already medic scripts out there, but this one is mine and I hope you all enjoy it.

Looks very good, I would definitely say this is above the 'acceptable' level for AI in a game (acceptable means they move, stand still, fire at the enemy).

A nice addition would be to simulate cover usage, for example, when they hit a waypoint, they face the enemy and fire a few rounds, then duck and reload.

How about this? find this part of the code in the script

change the code so it looks like this


Then ta-da you know have the ally crouch and reload instead of standing and reloading.

gamer x ive been workin on tryin to get it to work for a lil bit and i think i got just havnt tested it but i think u should remove the jump feature or at least make the distance farther away because when your too close and u have him jump he jumps really high and gets stuck in the ceiling javascript:insertSmiley('') also idk if this is still an issue but i believe u can change tha damage the ally does in the ally script. anyway thanks for the script works better then other ones ive used. P.S. when i use the retreat key its the same as move to my location
