Welcome to the home thread of the Dusk Chronicles.

The Story

Now, even though some of this is disclosed...
the setting is set in the future. The Earth has fallen
into an apocalyptic state with the after effects of nuclear war
and the new plague of the newly evolved "Dusk" organism.

There are two habitats in the "New World".
The salvitory "white lands" and the dreaded "dark lands."
The Russians have done their best to clear the lands of the dark
and making some city streets inhabitable for the survivors.
These safeholms are the "white lands".

The plagued cannot stand the light and are banished to the infected
dark corners of the globe... the "black lands". Treading these
areas is plain suicide. The Russians have yet to clear but a small
3% of the whole country. The rest of the world basks in a world of
death, decay, and darkness.

You get to inhabit the streets under a resistance group to
overthrow the remaining Russians who oppose the American
civilians of the "white lands".

Witness the horror.... of Dusk.

What do you mean??? The plane is a model he is puting in his game. Don't the last 3 screens look like FPSC to you?

Erm, in what way was I not relaxed? :s

Perhaps there's no health bar because he's not using one? :p

Am I the only one who's looking at that plane segment and hearing Samuel L. Jackson?

Screen's look good, if a little too dark. The cieling lights being on the wall still annoy me

I'm downloading now. You'll have plenty of C&C soon enough, but right now, all I can say is "looks great."

I downloaded, started it up, and after Vishnu finished loading it just sat there. I've played other Vishnu games with no problems before. I had to restart my computer and then re-enable the task manager through the registry

To bad it locks up my machine as well.
I REALLY wanted to play this, not only because you seem to make good use of some of my industrial items from the TGC Store.
Can you put up some screenies of the scenes where you use them? I'm tensed to see them in a game!

Best regards, Daarboven

I am Jacks complete lack of surprise.

I'm back again to the same old drawing board.
I've been doing some more work since returning and I didn't think
that making a new showcase thread would be necessary.
Never mind the demo as it is to dark and has a load bug.

I've been re-invsioning everything to make it an absolute survival
game. Its title is subject to change now as it might not include
some things it did before.

I have a screen shot though and I hope you guys enjoy.

Astek

(Mods, this should not be locked as I provided an earlier demo).

I'm back guys and this project is going DX9 until I
otherwise say so. I'm building on my old pc for now and
I would like to mention that Dusk is in two parts so far.

-Dusk- Prelude

and

-Dusk- Rebirth

Thats all I have to say for now.

I didn't feel I needed to post a new topic yet... but I
would like to announce that my work hasn't stopped here.
I'm compiling a "mini-game" as I post this that has taken a
route that no game I've seen on this board take.

This game is TRUE survival in a closed enviroment that you
DON'T EVEN KNOW ABOUT. This game will take some QUICK and
I mean QUICK thinking. You only have 20 seconds before they
spill in...

LINK COMING SOON

where did you get the debris o nthe floor too and the light on the ceiling? is it with fpsc or downloaded somewhere? Wish I could find them.

I'm working on a level for Dusk -Rebirth- here.
This is without mods and I get high FPS all the way through.
This shot I attached of of a possible Subway area.
My only dismay is the pipe textures are NOT what I copied
over those textures. If anyone can help me overwrite those
putrid textures on that pipe, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Comments and criticism please.

keep it up

well, i had first thought it was just some signs, but then i figured you were smart enough to know the game loading that many entities wasn't to good of an idea when you could just have it as an extra image on the wall.

speaking of which, i may need to start doing that too soon...

I'm getting pretty far with this level.
NOW KEEP IN MIND, "this world" is not like what were used to.
The subway has multipurpose and it will become clear
later on in the game. A demo should be coming soon.

looking good, although, you might want to redo the wall so there arent so many posters on it, cuz right now, i cant ever see the wall . Also you might make a couple of those lights flickering if you can (i cant tell if they are or not XD) itll add to the feel that its been in disrepair for a while.

Excellent, Astek. I'm really liking these screens, execpt for them being dark, but hey, I just don't get on with dark games... So no need to worry!

anyways... I have a new screenshot. This screenshot

I hated the screen with a large passion and
I completely took the bathroom out of the level.
Thats why. Also, I'm going to be working on this once I
complete The House of Usher fairly enough.
