Great idea, Tatters.

TeamASP, do you think you could make that promotional poster-thing like Tatters suggested, but maybe have the Eastman wearing like dirty, grunged-up civillian clothes, holding a shotgun like the JSCS in MP10 in one hand and a frag grenade in the other (the hands in which they're in doesn't really matter), and have his cover be a total car with a SWAT member dead under it?

Good luck with this one, AI. My guess is that making a game is pretty much like writing a book - sometimes you just have to live with the imperfections and press on to get it finished. It's easier to fine-tune once you have a rough draft of the whole thing.

I would suggest making it so he was framed for a big murder of some sort. This would make him more of the rise to heroism type thing. also it would open the doors to you finding the guy that framed you at some point in the game.
but it looks good.

@ TeamASP: What's currently under developement, the poster for WarFact?

To everyone: I have been slacking off lately, not doing much due to the school year winding down. However, I'll probably work on WarFact later today and, if the time is right, I will upload an environmental demo. Also, I will not be around next Thursday and Friday because the whole upper class is going on a post-graduatation trip, just so you guys know.

The screens look good, but I'd try to get a lot done since you made this thread very early in development. Don't rush it, the scenes look pretty good quality and I don't want you to sacrifice that, but if you've finished this school year I'd set more time to dev'ing while you don't have other work to do too.

Just an idea, since the mercenaries have "infiltrated" the prison, you could have a pretty dramatic looking part of the map where an explosion went off? I'm thinking sort of along the lines of the prison areas in HL2, with walls and platforms collapsed and stuff?

Some news for WarFact (no, they're not bad news): What I am planning to do for the cell block part is to keep the hallway with the cells in it, but take out the security station and the armory. Why? There has to be room for a stairway going up to the third floor and a stairway going down to the first floor. If anyone here has played the Ryker's Island level in the Punisher, after exiting Cell Block F, I think, before going down to the Death Row area with the electric chair, there's a guard whom Castle can talk to. I'm gonna make a checkpoint similar to that. Just trying to form a picture in my head now, so I'll upload 2-3 more pics later today.

Sorry guys, but I may have to redo the level from scratch. Why, you may ask? Because if I was to make enough room for a stairway, I'd have to take out part of the hallway, and that wouldn't be good. However, I will be trying to replicate the part of the level shown on page 1, but it'll look different and not as paper-filled. Once again, sorry, but some things just don't go as planned and have to be replanned or scrapped (I'm not scrapping level 1, though, I've come too far for that).

Just copy the level via select tool and move it, it moves the entities aswell.

Yo, redoing a level isn't bad at all. Don't expect to get it on the first run through. Making a good looking, fun level is very difficult and takes time.

That sucks.

In news about WarFact, I currently have my mind set on a skyscraper-type setting for the first and second levels. It'll be similar to what the cs_office map in Counter-Strike is like, but all indoors and has more floors. I'll post screens later on.

How about this:

Level 1 - Prison
Level 2 - Alley (similar to Chaos Theory mission after the Manhattan Blackout)
Level 3 - Protagonist's Safehouse

AND SO ON. A SKYSCRAPER WON'T DO GOOD FOR LEVEL 1. You know, this protagonist of yours actually is from the prison, and as player, you should escape to save your own skin from the eeevil mercs and not get crossed with the cruuuel guards. Then you must fight your way out BY ANY MEANS. Capiche???

And here's a question for you guys: what weapons (player from MP9/10, enemy stock and any MP weapon besides 5 and 18) should the player and enemies use? I know that the player will use the truncheon, and the guards will be using Jon's Elite from the TGCS, but what should the SWAT and mercs use? Remember, any kind of help is appreciated, so I'm standing here with open arms for any type of assistance.

To be honest, I'd do the guns last, after the design. Just get a general idea, for example if someone needs a machine gun, don't say

"well this guys gonna use the M58493789420985 32 and a half caliber machine gun with a M309152 attachment and one of those F03591 laser sights that allow the player to..." you get what I mean.

Just, when you design it, think
"this guy has a gun that can shoot long, this guy has one that can shoot short...etc..."
