Here is a project that Nathan (LT Tatters) and I have been working on for 4 months. It is called Drugs kill. It was originally an IGD exclusive project, but since Nathan's departure of IGD, I have moved it here.

Name: Drugs Kill

Story: Where I lived, drugs were used by everyone... And I mean stuff like crack, weed and ecstasy. I never really got into that stuff, it's a good thing to. Look where I am now, running away from... From... I have no idea what I am running away from, all I know is that I better keep running. I guess it's better than being one of them. Apparently a new and "improved" drug was being sold by dealers, it started about three months ago. It changed people... It mutated people. I guess that's what they deserved, all of them. My parents always told me drugs kill...

Guys, there is no demo, I belive the game is free?(not too sure, but there is no demo of sorts yet.)

Also thanks for moving this here davis.

Oh, and also I know im boasting here, but im just proud of it, the last screenshots(6-8.) are part of level 2, I designed level 2 and im designing level 4, once I got custom media sorted out I will post renders and screenshots from ingame, level 4.

well me and darmic are both the lead level developers, Im doing level 2 and 4, and also cinematics and some 3d moddels/textures ect.
its a small project but fun to work on.

I liked the video, my only concern would be that the stairway zombie was a little poorly done.

The first zombie which spawned behind you was fine: It was in a long corridor with lots of cells and shadows for the zombie to hide in. (Mabye open one cell up for the player to look into, bloodsplat on the floor etc.)However, on the stairwell the zombie appears out of nowhere. A player looking behind him would just see the zombie popping into existance very suddenly. Spawn him from the shadows and:

A: It will look much more realistic.

B: If enemies spawn from the shadows, people will be much more tentative going through the levels, looking at all the shadowy areas.

Thanks for the comments guys. There might be a level one demo, but the game will be released soon anyway.

@Butt Monkey, Level one has since been edited. I have added a few more zombies and thy all pop out of shadows. Plus, we now use bond1's zombie.

Any of the questions will have to go to Nathan, as of tomorrow I will be gone for 11 days.

Im taking a guess you're going to florida for a vacation?

Okay soon when I re-install the model packs into my libary( I converted all the textures to be cartoonish never used them at the end.)I'll do some whipping up of somesort of a cutscene.

A renders of 3dmodel.
It is a vent that the player will be able to find ammo in or somthing like that, kind like a scene where the vents have fallen down and the player finds a weapon or somthing inside.



More to come, I think I may do a broken wall?

If you want good tips on how to make a zombie infested fell in an overrun city, then download the Half-Life 2 demo and play the second level in it, We don't go to Ravenholm, trust me, it scared the [brown matter] outta me at some points, I personally thin Valve are the kings of FPS level design, nver had any problems with Half Life, (other than that see-saw trick, )......

If you don't think you need inspiraion download it anway, it's fun as hell, when it doesn't scare the [brown matter] out of you....

It was a guess realy.

Doesnt scare the Brown matter out of me jamie, I even did a speedrun of the howl game today, I completed it in 52 minutes excluding the all the dialauge.
But I have some scare plans for the game, I Had a Idea where there is water and then you walk up and a Zombie wakes up and appears infront of you, I saw this trick on Route kanal chapter made me bunnyhop.

I must agree. But if your a Xbox 360 user and are going for the achievement where you must use the Grav. Gun all the way through, man I get scared because they corner you and you have to escape from them, and I was like oh god no! I most probably in fear as my xbox messed up and it look like one of the zombies was humping me.lol

I once made an FPSC ravenholm level once...bassically copied the layout with noclip but turned out ok.

Well I aint worked on level 4 much, but here is a screen.
It aint finsihed yet, still working on it in my spare time, aswell as Gmod, moddeling, textures, machinema ect.

So, Tatters do you have a cutscene we may see, the cutscenes and cinimatics really interest me and its a must in the games i make and your the first person that i know of that has cutscenes for your games on these forums.
Unfortuently i cant make cutscenes for a good 3 months because the third installment of Iclone is coming out. And im Planing on waiting for that, It looks amazing i dont know if you have heard about the new one but if you want you can go to my profile and one of the threads is titled
"finally a great program to make cutscenes" its really interesting and is Cheap!

Thanks rofly, also punk13, I dont have cinematics yet, were still in level design, but if you go onto youtube search for Tatters620 there is a video called city 17, its a machinema I did it shows some stuff I'll be doing for this project, but they'll be better with the light rays(oops.) and also better colour definition.

*our main actor walks close to the camrea and stops, you can only see the legs.*
*our camera looks up to see our actors face as he looks around.*
*the camre is then view by a infected yet fast zombie, it howls as the camera shakes around in a furious fast rage.*
*then our actor turns around to fire, but he is cornerd into a back alley as he fires rounds piercing the fast zombies infront*
*he then starts to climb objects to get away, but he is pulled down, the camrea is viewing both him and the zombies.*"

thats a plan for a cinematic, but not one in this, it would require lots of animation, which I cant do .

Yes i agree, and that idea for a cutscene sounds great but is to challenging, especially for a FREE game.

uhm, well lets see: combines? Rebels? City17?
Uhm...No, I made city 17 in hl2 with some console commands and fraps(full fraps: I love to boast about my full fraps )
I made it in Hl2, also the arch games splash is for my games that are made by me only, made in 3dsmax.
But city17 is the quality I'll be doing the videos, but a bit better, also anyone know the best format for hi-res videos that work with fpsc? i use MOV with sony vegas because AVI just exports out wrongly, just sound with AVI ='(
But I could use WMM to import the MOV and export it as AVI, I use to use WMM and was okay at it too.

I wont have cinematics for awhile, but Level 2 had to be re-created due to a corruption, but it de-corrupted itself? so I may use level2 "Bad" and make a small demo sometime soon so this thread aint locked, also there wont be mp9/10 weapons, I hate mp9/10 never brought them, so it'll be the stock with hands, but it'll give a taste of my level design, just let me finish it up tommorow with cinematics and such.
also whats SMS 8?

Oh wait? SMS 8 means sony movie studio, next time just stick with Sony vegas, caused some confusion because I`m not good with mobile phones but there's somthing along the lines of a sms on them?

But I dont animate in sony vegas, all I do is put things toghether add effects, and crop some stuff aswell to fit in the scene, and also transtiitons, but I can add Muzzle flahses, but there are not tuts over how to do them in Movie studio only vegas 8.0.

oh sorry, ok so you just use it for editing and post production yeah i use Adobe Premiere one word EXPENSIVE but i got the whole Adobe suit for a good deal. i just need to start using photo shop and after effects anyway it all looks great.

no, Hl2 is HALF LIFE 2!
but yeah soon I'll use photoshop. and adobe premire, I used it, didnt like it and went for vegas, and after effects is a nice tool to.
But I'll also be using combustion4 had it for awhile. also: Two words: Autodesk expensive
But combustion is realy great, also PS could be used as a after effecter with the abbility to import AVI.

This is my first "full" game that`ll I'll be doing so i`m looking forward to this too.
Also I`ve been working on two texture variations for the monitor, but im afraid I may have to re-uv map it, it screwed up a little.
Should of got that uv accuratly.
but at the moment it looks good for my first UVmapped texture.

Screenage soon over the weekend of more level4.

Okay guys, I'm back. I have also started level 5. I really hope this lives up to your expectations. Maybe once we are finished (and if we get good reviews) we will try for a BOTB.
