Well there are actually two problems. First one is that when I try to run code I have made it has a display error involving DirectX at line 0 (where is line 0, anyways?). Also when I try to run say the code that comes with the demo it has an illegal operation. I'm guessing the illegal operation is because of this problem. Please tell me I'm right (only if it's the truth heh).

I have no sound card (reason to be left unknown by you).
DB is programmed to auto initialize a sound card by Direct X whether there is one or not.
Because of this and the absence of the sound card it gets confused and quites...

I still don't have a clue about the display problem.
