It would be impossible. I bought a new PC and I removed some
things for space including textures, models, and such.
They're not on this one either.

Eh, I don't know if I'm sticking to general horror.
Thats why its best I work mostly solo. Plus... I've been
lazy here lately.

Aight, I'm back in action! Still shooting the movie, but I have a little more free time, and seems like I just can't keep my hands off from FPSC
Surfacing from the sewers, the player ends up in the power plant courtyard, which is level 5. I'm dividing the whole power plant to 3-4 levels for performance reasons, as the player will end up traveling through the whole shebang, from the courtyards to generator halls, maintenance tunnels, and finally the offices. Thus the demo version will contain probably 6 levels, ending in the latter half of the power plant...
While waiting for that, here's some screenies. I hope you like 'em. (And also that the mods don't deem my sig too disturbing )

...Aaand two more pics before I hit the bunk. These pics make you feel like you're about to get jumped? They sure should. Number one, another pic form the power plant exterior, number two, a locker room at the crew quarters...

I'm not so sure I'd be concerned about being jumped at by a zombie rather than just bumping into walls I can't see

I think it's just that FPSC screenshots end up darker for some reason. Anyways, looks great

Aight, so I finished level 5 (geometry etc, still have to do the story triggers...)
I added some more lights to some parts so it's not quite that dark, also I worked on some new zombie skins, giving a more slimy and greasy look. Here's three pics, first, one more pic of level 5, then one of the mud zombies in simple.fpm, and third, another mud zombie attacking me in level 5... The texture filtering I did makes them look kinda like normal mapped or something, even though there is no shader on them...

Sweet, the "mud" zombies look more like they've been burnt. Perhaps by touching the power plant pylons?

@ Cheese cake;
Thanks

@ Coffeegrunt;
Could very well be... Or they might've been burned by humans wielding flamethrowers, you'll never know... There's a ton of variation, since I made a whole spectrum of different colors, woundings and skin patterns. There's skinned zombies, mummies, bog bodies, green slimeballs, totally bloodied and mutilated ones... Well, at least it won't get too repetitive...
Did some tweaking and added some story triggers, and ran some playtests on levels 3-5... Now it's time to sink my teeth on level 6, and once that's done it's time to make turn them into a demo version... Screens of lv.6 coming soon.

Thx for the comments

Sorry for not putting out any screens even though I promised, I haven't been able to make any concrete progress with level 6, as I was busy shooting the movie (again). Once I got around to working on the level today, I made the huge mistake of trying to light up a large room with a single big light; I used it to just test out the geometry first, but then fell in love with the huge shadows it created, then tried to build the room around it and... Well, failed miserably, which is what happens every time I happen to forget my own rules of lighting. I'll have to do some pretty big revisions to the level now, but hopefully I'll get something done that's worth taking a screenshot...

Alright, now I'm getting some kinda satisfying results. Here's a very WIP pic of the generator hall; the lower floors aren't lit up yet, but I like the look of it now. Crit&Comments are welcome...

I'm thinking of having it be a water-powered plant.
That way it's easier for the player to suspend their disbelief (with the zombie apocalypse having started six months ago and all...)

Even though, the parts would rust up without a large and dedicated maintenance team.....

Meh. I don't really care, I've fought Demons in research labs on Mars, killed Geneticaly modified people from the 50s in an undersea city, and levelled buildings with rocket launchers......

I guess after doing that, the little matter of how a generator could run without fuel pales in comparison.....then again, you could say that they were fuellled by Alaium, lol....

Well, yeah, of course they'd rust... But I don't think they'd go completely useless in six months.
I do care I mean, suspending your disbelief for science fiction is one thing, but if I want to make even a remotely believable illustration of the downfall of human civilization (after all, Romero mythos in the original trilogy stuck with a very realistic vision), then I shouldn't have parts in the game that would outright insult the players intelligence...
*rant over, back to making the level*

Aalright, here's a batch of pics of the finished generator hall. As you can see, it's quite a bit less grungy than the locations seen before... Crit&Comment pls.

What's a three-letter word that starts with "y" and ends with "um"?

No, it's not "yum".

It's "Hardcore Zombie Project".

I like what you've done man.
I'm glad your can make such great levels.
My reasons why I cannot complete a game and such
would have to lye in my free time and other issues.
I'd have loved to help... but I can only do what I can.

...if the generator was in operation, and those parts were moving, it's very doubtful that rust would get a chance to form, let alone fuse them together.

I like the hydro driven generator idea a great deal. It is a very realistic and believable scenario, and opens up oh so many doors...

Great job on this title, Ehetyz.

It's looking amazing...

Thanks for the comments y'all
It's pretty obvious I missed the intended September deadline for the demo, and I apologize about that. Right now all my free time is spent either working out or editing Urban Savages, so the release of the demo will be delayed a bit longer. But on the good news, I'm literally craving to get back to working on the game, and I should be able to finish the editing within two weeks, and after that, I'll have all the time in the world to polish the demo up and shoot the necessary FMV footage for HCZ.
So, just a heads up to let you know I haven't disappeared or given up on this one.

How do you remove huds and crosshairs and make it head shot only?

you replace the hud and crosshair with an 100% transparent dds texture/total black texture and for the headshots u need the latest fpsc update wich has that function

Right click a character then type to the "Start" box: appearwithheadshot.fpi. That should work.

The pics are 1024x768, that's the standard res that FPSC puts out. I won't up the resolution in-game, since my comp can't handle it. I'm dead serious, I have a 1440x900 TFT screen that's essentially going to waste as the 7300LE has trouble handling any ingame resolutions above 800x600.

There'll be some updates about the game soon.
