Finally completed, I beleive I have a firm 2D demo showing all the cool things you can do with only x,y coordinates and some dots in DBC

Nearly 20 lines, I believe this a very competative entry..so watch out

You've lost your comparison operators on line 3.

COOL COOL COOL COOL COOL COOL COOL COOL COOL!!! You must be great in math to find out what math command thingys you use to make those effects. If only I knew how to do that, I'd be making the best effects! But that'll never happen. Oh well, either way, it'll beat my paint program out of the water, so, hope we see you in the winners post.

At first glance, I'm a mediocre mech pilot. Look again and you will see my battlemech's computer code rushing through my eyes. My Mech And I Are One!

I liked the dot(what's a dot?, also 1d?) that became a line(1d) and than became a square(2d) and than became a box(3d). Now if you're that good, add 4d to it! j/k
It's really good, i liked it!

hmm, I'm not sure that I can explain you in english what is a dimension ...
it is the minimal number of vectors needed to give the coordinates of a point
if you need only one vector, then there is one dimension (x)
if you need two vectors, then there are two dimensions (x,y)
if you need three vectors, then there are three dimensions (x,y,z)
some people say that the fourth dimension is the time, but is the time a vector ? maybe .. maybe not .. who knows ? I think that our mind can understand only three dimensions, if there is another one, how could we know ?
oh, I forgot to tell you : it is a very good code

Whoa, cool!

Out of healthy curiosity, which part of the code was the scrolling "star field" effect covered. That was pretty tight.

actually, before this goes too far in dimensions...

1) There are apparently 9 dimensions (so a TV program said, dont ask me how, i didnt understand)

2) There was a huge thing about this debate before, which i decided to read rather than do work in college

Time a vector?

No, no, no....

There are infinite dimensions, even fractional dimensions. You can alter things in the 3.52895 dimension if you so choose.

There are plenty of good books on this .

I can't get the code to show anything, what res/screen mode do you recommend?

eh...should work in 640x480 using DBC 1.13 enhanced...

As for the scrolling stars..it was really simple... just setup a couple arrays to store the coordinates for the number of stars you want.. ie
DIM stars(100,1)
`100 = the number of stars includes 0..so 101 stars total
`,0 = x coord
`,1 = y coord

then update the positions of all the stars with the horizontal speed and add some layering...

ill write up some quick code tomorrow and you can see how I did it.. unfortunately i dont have the nice pretty code any more to my entry so :p
