What you are about to see is an early WIP shot of "Sketched". I don't really have a story for sketched yet, but I plan to use 100% custom media. My idea so far is you go around and bash baddies with my guitar. As you would've guessed, the whole game looks like it was sketched in pencil. I would like to have three different weapons (guitar, plunger and potato cannon) for the player to use. Tell me what you think so far.

Nice! I think the guitar needs a little color, but other than that it looks good!

Not bad....a little bland....but we need more screens!

Also, I agree with ZackS28 about the Guitar, why not open up a can of Photishop whoop-a** on it and give it a nice laminated wood look.....

@CG, That isn't a real screen shot, just showing off the media.

About the guitar, I have a colored one, but I wanted to make the game fully black and white pencil sketch-style.

i agree with darimc, if you coloured the guitar it would take the whole principal of the game being "sketched"

or is that just me?
looks good btw, I really like the TNT boxes, made me laugh

I know you're going with black and white sketched look, but a colored pencil shading would look pretty awesome as well... Just a suggestion.

...already been done before, by Lon, in the Pencil Whipped series.

You might want to examine his work and what techniques he used. It may help you to achieve the sketched look that you're after...

@Pus in Boots, That's where I got the idea from. But that is just a retexture, I am making my own.

After about three hours of hard work. I have finally finished the spud gun! I used FredP's phaser animations (if that's okay). Here is a screen shot.

EDIT: By the way, the muzzle flash is a potato.

Thanks, I will be releasing a demo soon so that everyone can have a feel of how the game plays. It won't be an official demo though. The only stock media I plan to use is the skeleton enemy.

Here is the early demo. No actual level design or anything, just shows you what game play is like.

Ok, the weapon is fantastic, and I love the sounds. I also really like the style you're going for, the characters also seem to fit the style well too. So far I really like it, mostly because of its originality.

Ok, just played the demo. I know its just a early demo, But the loading screen and main menu NEED to be somthing diffrent. Also the gun's animation is to fast. it goes up and down way to quick. But for an early demo its pretty entertaning.

@GP, The menu hasn't even been worked on, this was just for the models. I plan on slowing down the animation on the gun, but these kinds of things aren't easy to make. Thanks for the comments.

NEVER ask that. if your making games to please other people your doing it for all the wrong reasons, if you enjoy making Sketched then keep at it. if not, dont make it, dont base it on who wants to play it or not, if its a good game people will play it, if not people wont, but atleast you had fun making it, aye?

You'll Know When You See It.
