What I do on this day:

Light fireworks, have cookouts and have a good ol time like some person said above me!

[NO JOKE]This year we did all that but my grandpa decided to also make a bomb. He lit it off in the front yard. Ahh it was a fun day...[/NO JOKE]

lights, fireworks... yeah. And crippled tom cruise just cam from 'nam.

We just celebrate Fil-Am Friendship Day on July 4th and It's our indepence day way down before one nut changed the date to June 12.

Out of curiosity....what do you actually do on Independence Day?

Well, First we get up and get the bbq roaring then you slap some ribs, steaks tri tips, hot dogs and burgers on there and make some corn, potatoes and all. Ten there is a parade and then its PYRO time with a bunch of fireworks and to pay tribute to the troops and we also get to light a few fireworks off our selves or try to without get caught by the police. Oh did i mention its the one day in the year when we can listen to

Well, no offense but that is kinda how you guys are portrayed over here. In TV and all, but i have noticed that British actors have been getting more popular and are in more lead roles lately. So they are ruling Hollywood. But what do i know i mean i live in a state where the Terrmenator is my governor

I love the country America, just a great deal of people living here are screwed up. Albeit I stayed in the air force base, veering away from anyone with a country accent. They had an air-show and everything, I couldn't resist that. Another thing, who doesn't like fireworks? It's a beautiful display of colorful explosions and explosions are awesome!

Anyhow, my 4th of July went well. Happy Birthday America!

I live in a little clearing in the woods. We have about five houses that resinate around a large "middle" field. Our newest neighbors delighted us with a display of fireworks they purchased WHOLESALE for a total cost of $4000. It went on for about 4 hours, and had a magnificent finale. And best of all, we were RIGHT up next to it. And every once in awhile a mortor tipped over and we got to watch 2-3 LARGE explosions on the ground

All in all, if was AMAZING!

Have you ever noticed game devvers always use a sterile, British female accent for announcement systems and such?

Think about it, the Black Mesa tram at the start of Half Life, GladOS, and I'm sure there's more.....

I've played at least 3 games with male announcers.

But yeah, that's not quite as popular. I'd like to hear a male redneck voice, though. Or a KID! I can see it now. This military facility, and this little kid's voice on the speakers; "Attention! raaadiation leek......on...uh..fourthy levels. Make that fourth level, level four, yeah.".

I wouldn't call the HL1 one British... it was more vanilla/accent-less as if to highlight its synthesized nature

My point was that it used a inhuman "accent" - the synthesized nature of its voice was highlighted, and hence it lacked a "real world" accent (i.e. an accent that doesn't belong to any particular locale / nationality)

Yeh, I have a huge Chav population in my town, they all swagger down the strret, and say stuff like:
