Quote: "I wish Rockstar would hurry up and release some downloadable content for the 360 version, I haven't really played GTA 4 since finishing the story. I'm still left with a lot to do, I've just lost interest."
The DLC is suppose to be available during Fiscal Quarter 1 2009, which basically means anytime over the Winter period. Many gamesites seem to reckon sometime during February-March sales lulls to booster profits during that time, but personally I reckon we're probably looking at right after Christmas. As Microsoft are expecting some fairly great console sales, especially if the current month has been any indication.
In any case though the content is done, we're just waiting for Rockstar to release the damn thing. Can't wait for those 2 new story arcs with a combined 15hours-ish gameplay
Grand Theft Auto : San Andreas was also just released on XBOX Live Originals yesterday. So worth checking out if you don't have it, or lost the disc... the improved performance over disc is pretty cool for only 1200MS.
Also you might want to revisit your game post-completion. I've recently gone through the story again and it was just as enjoyable the second time as the first... plus the number of additional things to do after completion are just staggering and often fun.
Like the Most Wanted, Vigilante, Text Msg Cars, Assassination, Random Character Mini-Stories, etc.
Some good fun to be had.
Personally I've not been fond of the GTA-Series since GTA 2, because the move to 3D added crappy storylines that barely made sense; and really just had god awful physics. Often being more of a pain than enjoyable.
GTA4 however while it doesn't change the winning formula that fans love about the Series (most of whom only played the GTA 3D games) it brings to the table something the previous games didn't.
Characters you actually have opinions about with depth, even the minor characters.
Liberty City Stories and Vice City Stories on the PSP were the start of this, but honestly GTA 4 took it to a new level. The main character isn't really an easily forgetable person... Niko Bellic has an ocean of depth about him, with supporting characters that are also just as fleshed out making the city start to feel more alive than ever before.
What they've done isn't change but refine GTA back to it's roots of just a good laugh with little touches from each previous game thrown in. Sure many aspects from San Andreas are missing that would've been cool, but just remember... there is no doubt we will see a GTA 4: Vice City and GTA 4: San Andreas maybe not as stand-alone titles but probably as DLC full games (which would rock!)
Personally I'm hoping that this time they expand out, and include London or even their home city of Edinborugh. That would freaking rock! I'd love to play a GTA that is this side of the pond again.
