Description
The gameplay was inspired by "Elite Beat Agents". In case you are unfamiliar with "Elite Beat Agents", here is the instructions as they appear in-game:
Quote: "Have the pointer inside of the note while the shrinking circle overlaps it.

Clicking on the note is not necessary.

More points are awarded for being closer to the middle of the note, and for not missing notes.

An arrow will indicate the direction of the next note."

This game consists of music made by myself ("Brn2Die").

Credits (ABC order):
Brn2Die - Music
IanM - Matrix1Utils
Mike Musson - testing and ideas
Thomas J. Knowles (monocoder) - BG Effect
Torrey - Enhanced audio plugin

Song List (ABC order):
As You Are
Back Then
Breathe
I Said
Priceless
Waiting
Wake Up

Downloads:
Ripple - 16.51 MB
Update + Disney Pack - 3.66 MB
Note: "Update + Disney Pack" is required to play songs from song packs.

Screenshots (all of these are outdated):

If you have any questions or comments, I'd be glad to hear them.

If any of you have played the demo, it has changed quite a bit since then. It is easier now (for the player, and for for me.)

I hope you enjoy it.

Thanks,
Erik

I was told that a few files are corrupt. A patch has been made, and the download link can be found in the first post.

Good to see this in Program Announcements. Congratulations on a great game - it certainly improved from when I first played that demo.

Nice game. Breathe and I said were corrupt in both zip files. I also kept getting "Bad Audio Index" errors, but it eventually played.

You should create the highscores folder, fix the audio files and the audio index bug, then you have a nice playable game.

Batvink: Thanks for giving my game a shot!

I'm sorry about the problems. I will get it fixed.

I never got "Bad Audio Index" errors, so I will assume that is caused by corrupt audio files, which will be fixed (for real this time) in the next update.

Hm, maybe I should have had a few people test this before putting it on "Program Announcements".

I apologize for triple-posting,

I am looking into the possibility of releasing song packs featuring the music of games we all know and love (Zelda, Mario, Final Fantasy, etc.). Does anyone know if this okay (not illegal) to do?
I'd probably be using music from VGMusic.

Any requests for game music you would like?

Thanks,
Erik

Nice game, but it could have been better if you added a way to fail the song. It was easy to follow the notes and see where they were going to be next.

And as for using music from games, I doubt you would get in trouble for something so small.

I d/loaded the latest version, and the pointer keeps leaving the screen. I'm on a 1440 x 900 widescreen monitor. Video attached to this post

I was afraid someone might notice that.

In testing, this only occurred when I was getting low FPS. I'm assuming your FPS was fine, so the fact that it didn't stay on the screen bothers me. I will attempt to fix this issue in the next release, as I've already had to make a few minor tweaks to the program to add MIDI support (necessary for upcoming song packs).

Expect the song pack and the game update in 1-2 days.

OK, I can get it to work correctly in that case (long story, but I ran it at 12 FPS).

Maybe you need to make it FPS-independent? Otherwise different people will get different experiences.

The arrow rotation was the only thing that would vary according to FPS.

The problem has been solved however.

Update and "Disney Pack" should hopefully be out sometime in the next 24 hours.

Thanks,
Erik
