I downloaded a trial version of one editor (called Amabalis or something), but it was so slow. Worse than 1 fps. Does anyone know a 3d model editor that runs quickly?

U mean, a 3D Modeler??? Well, I also think u meant 3D Canvas ( from Amabilis ). It really may run slow under slower computers. Try to disable the grids, it will speed things up.

U also need to specify if u wanna it to be freeware or if u wanna pay for it. Or else peoples will come here and say to u get 3D Max which cost $$$$$$$$$$$

A search on the net is worthy as www.google.com

3d canvas is slow i agree. Not so slow when its actually open, i mean its slow when loading though, takes about 1minute on BeastComp. About 3mins on ShockSystem.

Hmmm, I have no problems with Canvas in my computer... It takes between 7 and 10 seconds to open the version 5.7

whats beatscomp and shock system ?!?
no matter ... canvas doesn't even run on mine
crashes and can't load, not that i'm gonna be up all nite wondering what other proggies to use

i'd suggest gmax, maya ple, trueSpace2/3, milkshape or wings3d (if your feeling adventurous )

only milkshape and trueSpace will open immediatly - kinda something i've not got, however Max takes the longest, even on my upgraded system takes almost 25seconds to load under XP
thats on a Duel 2.5Ghz Optiron System - so you can imagine how long on soemthing slower

Max 5.0 takes 25 - 30 seconds for me I've a Pentium 4, 2GHZ Little memory though ( 256 DDRAm ). It was a cool test

But anyway, Canvas open faster ( 7s-10s ) but there's nothing to compare with the fast max performarce when both are running Max is far way faster

Well, 3D Max 3.0 open in like 7-10s for me
