I tried it.And on my (i must admit stoneage gforce 5200 agp)graphics card the lag is unbearable. Frame rate around 2-3 to unplayable. To bad. I stride around a new machine which i hopefully can afford around christmas (fingers crossed, so you all go and buy some of my stuff at the store, lol) and then i'll give it another go. Screens look nice, though!

I am Jacks complete lack of surprise.

Hi Nickydude

I really enjoyed your level.

+ Non linear map design
+ Great atmosphere, lighting and sound
+ Nice use of cutscenes
+ Good mixture of enemies

- Collision issue next to tree before teleporter
- Had difficulty getting back down after teleporting to roof

No real performance issues here but using a high end system.

Congratulations on the newsletter mention!

Played the demo and enjoyed the level, I liked the bit where you had cobwebs just before the spiders.

Speed lag for the first few mins untill I shot the zombie then everything ran betwen 25fps - 30fps maybe the first zombie not being there would increase speed.

Well done and good luck on this project.

best s4real

Okay, I'm gonna play this on my 1GB RAM comp and a 512mb 8400GS with DX10. That should work perfectly =P I'll post back when done.

...I keep asking my dad to upgrade it to 2gb, but he keeps saying no . It spent 25 minutes loading the damn thing and it took another 5 minutes to open the screen. By that time, I had 48 health remaining. All-in-all, it is very good Nick. I loook forward to the Hospital beta.

First Company Veteran,
My specs are better than yours and it doesn't work for me.Some of the issues are supercomputer related (we don't have one but then my pc is set to make games for x10 and most don't have that technology either...the future doesn't wait on us...) and some are engine related.Bond's zombie is indeed a work of art but you can kiss your framrate goodbye...due to engine issues which Lee or one of your uber mod makers is addressing.
When they iron out the remaining kinks in the FPSC engine this will run for more people.
If not...look on the bright side...in a year or five you'll have to buy a new pc to keep up that will run it (if it's not a laptop).
I do think this is a great project and when I get my pc out of the stone age I am going to try it on some hardware that will run it or burn my place down...you never know.

Its pretty cool, but I had so much lag. Once I killed the zombie and got passed the dog bark it ran smoother. But once I hit the spiders I had to quit. Lag was un-bearable :/

@Wigginator: Maybe, if your processor is really good.
Oh, and Nickydude, great job! It must've taken a ton of effort to get most of the wrinkles out. I barely found any!
I will not tell you that no

Just thought I'd answer this. Many years ago, a friend got me a job at Cleveland Park Greyhound Racing Stadium in the UK. He spoke to the boss and the boss said "Sure, what's his name?" Unfortunately he only knew me as Nicky (as everyone does) and just made a name up on the spot.

I tried thiz on my moms computer and got 12-26 FPS on a GF7100. Seems To me this must be a cpu issue since da GF7100 is "weaker" then the ATI 2400 Fredp has. My mom got a Intel Peniutm D (Dual-Core) at 3.0ghz and 2gb RAM. Plus The video Card Is apart of the Motherboard Chipset (nF 610i). I Died From The fat Zombie Becasue The FPS Hit 12 again...Very nice Game And How did U did the cutsence with the cop?

Well, I finally managed to download and play it. I love the openess of the town design. I played it on a high-spec PC, but there was a slight frame rate slow down in places...and I managed to get stuck under a couple of the billboard trees The chopped in half zombie from the horror pack worked very well. Some great details. Must have taken ages.

I'll be redoing this when (if) the migration version comes out. As long as the speed is there there will an an entire underground section that I had to, unfortunately, cut out of this version.

Why wait till migration if you can use like Project Blue,Apple Juice Mod,Horror Mod ect. that boast the framerate dramatically and add tons of features we probably wont see in migration(if we ever see it).

Good game. I really dont like the Deagle. It is slow to pull out and looks poorly textured compared to the rest. And no sherrif carrys a desert eagle.

good game. there were only a few skybox leaks that i found. very hard to find though. The lag was only a small problem i thought (just held shift the whole time ) Today i actually made a similar map. open like yours. with a little park, some other buildings over the walls, but overall very similar, you beat em to it!! arg!
good game, as for chapter 2, i saw some screenies and zombie games are my specialty. drop me an email!

Hey Nickydude. Perhaps re build this game using Apple Juice mod? Maybe it can help with the performance.

Do you use Vanilla 1.15 FPSC? Use Apple Juice Mod! Totally free, and gives better speeds for your game!

Thanks for the encouragement and offers of help guys. At the moment I'm not really using FPSC (although I'm creating a 'pack' for FPSC users ). It will probably be some time well after Christmas before I pick up FPSC again.

Nice game Nickydude! Nice open design.

No lag for me whatsoever, this Core i7 920 and GTX285 combo is incredible, it's taking whatever FPSC can throw at it.

Story
You play the part of Nick Anderson, a sheriff of a small, quiet town. "NICK" come from a town seven miles away and "HIS" father is still the sheriff of "Nick's" home town while "HE" moved on to become sheriff of the town of Leeson. Every week "NICK" and "HIS" father meet up in a little diner part way between the two towns to discuss what’s been going on. Over the last few weeks "NICK's" father has been telling "HIM" about strange goings on in "THE" home town, people going missing, strange creatures seen, and he thinks it has something to do with the hospital as a lot of people have been taken in, never to be seen again. "NICK's" father has not turned up and the phone lines to the town are dead. "HIS" shift has ended so "HE" decided to head over to "THE" home town to see what has happened to "HIS" father....

Hey!! no offense.
Like what you are doing.
Good luck on your project.
Can't wait to play the
full game. Your the man.
