General question, who would like to see a demo this evening?!?. I just need numbers so I know how many I am catering for so to speak, and how many people would value one.

I want a demo and Josh, I'm disputing something right now.
Those ARE Cheese Cake's models... but they we're me and him
exclusive. You got them because I was in your team... which brings
me questions about that shader...

I know they are, and he kindly gave them to us because you where as correctly stated in the DS team (and I still consider you part of it), but whats all this about the shader. No one else has given me shaders, there have all been altered by the DS team. SO Im not sure what your on about there

Not long to wait now guys!

Okay guys I need your help on a issue!. All of my shaders work in test game no problem, but then when i build my game my shaders appears white or purple as a normal map would. It seems all of my entities/characters that have normal maps dont work and appear purple or white. Has anyone else encountered this problem. I have tried it with Ply's Mod, S4Mod, without them and version 1.08 and 1.09. Still no joy. I also notice that when I compile the game to build it into a final .exe, no textures are saved on the "Saving Textures [0]" part. The Lights are calculated but no textures are saved. This is preventing me from releasing the demo at this point, so please try and help out as much as you can.

Thanks

This might sound stupid but are you using V114? If so, saving the textures never works for me either I always have to copy them over manually which isn't such a big deal.

Are you using your "X-Tasy" mod also? Double check to make sure those .dll's aren't preventing any file packaging/installation.

Im not but I have just deleted a Mod dll that could of been causing it. How would I go about copying the textures over manually?

Well, you were saying that the textures weren't being copied over, or saved.

Just go through your level, jot down a note of every texture you use in-game, and find the source files (in your FPSC folder) and copy them over to your built-game folder. Hmm maybe I'm misunderstanding the problem here...

Be patient... a good Demo will take a while. (And how we like to say in Germany; "Gut Ding will Weile haben...")
Do you want a unfinished Demo, or a finished one? I'll guess the finished... so; Patience.

Okay Guys!, the compile is Done, I just need to Protect the game (Ill probably use Vishnu 2 BETA) and then I shall upload. The reason for the late-ish demo is due to a few late niggles that I had to sort out. This Demo is what I would call a Alpha due to I have tried a few new things (New as In no one has used the engine in this way before), and If they don't come off, I can always fix them. But Anyway Im off to Protect and Upload Now!

Not Long to wait

Okay Guys! Here it is! But Before you go rushing to click on that Link, Please take time to read the following Info.

DS Tunnels Alpha Demo

This is Basicly 3 quarters of the redone abandoned tunnels level (with 1 or 2 scares taken out) due to I want to save something for the final release. Some of the new shaders are also present, and I myself would consider this demo as a general DS tech demo, but It's also a opportunity for you guys to tell me how I'm doing etc.

Changes to the DS Engine
*Reduced the Lightmap quality slightly to ensure a smooth fps on lower end systems

*Fixed all falling through floor bugs

*Reduced Players Walking Speed

*General speed increases all round

*Added some Dynamic Camera effects

*I avoided shader mapping all segments due to I wanted to make sure that the FPS remained smooth.

Bugs/Stuff I am Aware of and currently fixing/Changing

*The Damage Fader Hud looks crap because i haven't finished applying transparency

* The main menu Buttons & game over screen haven't been changed from the FPSC stock (That was a error on my behalf *sorry!*)

*There is one Lag spot at the top of some stairs that causes the FPS to dip. Im working on a fix for that
-------------------
PLEASE READ THIS BIT
I didn't have time to find suitable, stable Game Protection before release, So As a resusult I haven't protected my game Files. People will probably say Im taking a big risk, and I suppose they are right, but It's as simple as this. If Anyone Steals any of My Media, Sounds etc, then i SHALL Stop Development on DS. I Know most of my fans are honest any would go down that path, but I'm just warning you. If anyone does Steal my stuff, I shall know.

But Without further interruption, here is the LINK:
http://www.badongo.com/file/12732411

I look forward to your feedback later on

Same here...

By the way. I've found that LightmapQuality only really affects lightmap building, it doesn't seem to affect anything opther than load times...

The game and shaders look really sweet! Only thing I don't like is that you have a weird habit to put those ceiling lights to the walls. Just my opinion. Keep it up

Oh good. Awesome. Looking forward to this.

Coffee, the reason being (I think) that you are using a modded verion of fpsc? And so is CoZ. Because in the fpsc source code where all the setup.ini code is, lightmapquality is remmed out (made into a comment so that the code isn't really part of it)
But its strange because there are 2 lightmapquality's, 1 remmed and 1 not remmed, but with different extensions.
Anyway, time to stop blabbing.
Nice CoZ!

EDIT: Download not working for me either
