The sequel to the BOTB award winning game has started production! I've finished the first couple of rooms, and lemme tell you... It's going to be a lot cooler than the first game. The lighting techniques are a little better. In this sequel, you pick up right where you left off in the last game. Beyond the door that you ended at in the first game was the power area of Paycore. Your orders were to cripple Paycore Weaponry, so what better way to do it than taking out the power?

Screenshots (WIP):

Each game I make has some sort of Easter Egg room in it. Infiltration had the cool rocket launcher, but that was really it. The secret room in this game is a little harder to get to, but in a way, reminds me of the Insomniac Museum from the Ratchet and Clank series. Because I already know what it looks like, I'll just post a screen of me inside of it. It is your job, however, to figure out how to get in. (Yes, it is possible).

@ Gunn3r:
Nice!

I especially like the first screen, but the second one is nearly as good.

I'm not understanding the last screen lol.

Looks awesome though, and grats on BOTB.

@Jenkins, that's the "Secret Room". If you've ever played the Ratchet and Clank series and gone to the Insomniac Museum in them, you'd see a bunch of things that didn't go into the final game. Those two screens are things that didn't go into my final game.

Thanks for the comments guys. Expect some more screens within the next couple of days. And expect the full thing to be finished within a week or two. I'm really liking the first room. It gets really good framerate and is packed to the brim with entities.

@CG, Yeah. Sorry about not responding.

@PoK, Thanks man. I'm trying to pull out all the stops on this one. But then I get distracted and end up making a new avatar for myself.

Thanks. I'm working on getting the portal system to where it builds them the best that it can, so that the framerate is fairly smooth and consistent all the way through.

No problem. Thanks for the comment. I'm working on making it more realistic. I'm taking images and trying to recreate scenes to make things more believable. It's working greatly.

Here is a tip, lower the "blue ambience" to something low, I have mine set to 5, and I think it looks better.

Well, I've decided to scrap that last level setup, as it was too system intensive and lagged the crap out of everything. However, I have been working on a newer version (which I'm liking more and more). Attached is a screenshot of it.

Very good, even tho' it's a bit dark, but the general athmosphere looks great.

Best.

I added the Flashlight (v3) script to the game, so it makes it not so dark. The next couple of rooms are turning out to be really nice looking. Cosmic Prophet's SciFi Packs have a great selection of power plant-like material that I'm able to use.

New Screen! After playing DS and some other games, I've decided to shift the style a little bit. I like this new style a whole lot more, and best of all, it runs without any FPS drops, unlike my other versions.

What do you think?

That screen is quite pixellated, what's up with it?

Yeh, sory but it's got epic pixellation on the light, everything looks really low-res, like when I play Half Life...

Alot better, thanks...

I like how you're trying to make it more interesting by having the player crouch and such, I can't help feeling that the walls could do with a sign or two.

Looks fun and a bit sci-fi-ish, but what's up with that fence in the first pic? It doesn't seem to have any texture and the corner poly seems to be inverted...

That's xplosys' rail entity. It doesn't so well on corners, but it works. The texture is beige, and the light kinda cancels it out.

Ooh. I like the scifi style you've got there.

I also really think the idea of adding the vents in the last picture was good. Gives you a sense of claustrophobia. (In a good way.)

After a 4 month period of doing absolutely nothing with FPSC or game development in general for that matter, I decided to try my hand at finishing Emergence Detonation. I don't have the old maps seen in above screenshots, but I do have the ability to make more. And being away for 4 months, I've been able to think of some pretty cool ideas on how to finish the game. So without further ado, here is the first screen of Emergence: Detonation. I hope to have this game done before Xyzz1233 finishes coding the forum on MoltenByte Design, as I'll move completely over there and only use FPSC as a toy when I'm bored.

Thanks. I hope the new style pans out well. It is, after all, the style that got me BOTB in the first place. I'm not sure what I was thinking to deviate from that...
