Actually I agree with Ferret, this would work very well with the WiiMote; but I definately would wait until the sensitivity enhancement is released because I could see it be frustrating otherwise with the WiiMote not picking up movements that need to be done quickly in succession.
Quote: "Mirror's Edge seems like it would be more fun with a gamepad because of all the combos you have to do. I don't normally say this for games played in the first person, but Mirror's Edge is an exception. The keyboard wouldn't work too good IMO. Now, no one says you can't hook up a gamepad to your PC."
I would be suprised if the PC version didn't support the XBOX 360 Controller for Windows. Still you're right, I can't even begin to image how poor a substitue this would feel on the PC with Keyboard and Mouse.
Personally I've often found there a number of games that are better with a Keyboard and Mouse (RTS) and some that are better for controllers (Modern Action Adventure). Games like FPS while everyone can claim one is better than the other.. imo they're extremely well suited to either now a suitable control design is standard for the industry.
This is what it more boils down to mind. It's not that these games don't work on a given control method, but that no one has found a suitable way to use that control method to play them yet.
Remember early FPS games, they used to be horrible when the mouse finally became a "standard" to have; people would stick with Keyboard or Joystick only most of the time with arguments saying mouse control was never going to take off. Now look at it.
It's all about finding that sweet spot for control design to a particular game format, once you do that and bingo. Right now they're trying to do that with RTS on Consoles... there have been huge strides but they're not quite there yet. Still RTS games now are far easier to control you're units than ever before even with the jump to full 3D worlds.
