In the later levels runner vision and the B button aren't quite as useful as you'd like them to be. There was a bit on the boat where I got stuck for like an hour because there were two bits that lit up with runner vision then nothing, and despite trying to jump to an obvious duct being nearby faith just refused to grab it the first few times I tried, and the other direction you can jump to a walkway which you'd think you could grab onto but again faith just refused to.

After a few more tries decided to attempt the air duct again and it just worked, tried it a few more times to make sure it wasn't a fluke but after i got up there it became obvious it was the normal way to do it. Don't like how sometimes faith won't acknowledge a jump properly or grab something unless you do something just right, made it a tad frustrating.

Yet to go through again not killing anyone lol
I gave up in the parking garage when they brought out the 2 hit kill machine guns with 2-3 guys in one place. Made it almost insane to get through without killing.

Really liked the storyline, was cool and the game itself despite being a little disappointingly short; was still really cool.
So far mind I've spent more time doing the time trials than I did completing the game hehe, they're annoyingly addictive.
Quite proud of a few of my times so-far. Just a shame almost no one I know has the game and those who do don't seem to care about the Time Trials. Think it'll be a good laugh when more are putting times to beat on there.

Like watching others ghosts too, while I'm doing the challenge. Cause I find it fun trying to keep up.

That is exactly the same point I started using weapons. Hopefully we don't have to complete the entire game again, just the individual chapters.

All in all I though the game was pretty smart. Considering the concept is pretty new, I say it was excellent. However there were a few times I found myself cursing away when Faith refused to grab things etc.

Time Trial mode is an added bonus. However nobody I know has the game yet.
Some of those top ranked times are just impossible to keep up with.

The top ranks are mostly about trying to find the shortest path, or doing something a slightly quicker way.

I've got 3 Stars on a few an one I beat the world best on
but most of them I can just about make the 1 Star or 2 Star ratings

Wow, I almost gave up in the parking garage too
I had to time it perfectly, and then just run like hell. You come out of the truck, punch the guy whos not looking, disarm the one next to him, turn around, run straight, duck into a small hallway to the right, go around, come out back into the garage, disarm the machine gun guy, and then run for the trucks. The part after that though, I have no clue I did it...

"However nobody I know has the game yet."
Yea, same here. I went into school today and everybody launched at me that I had been playing it instead of Gears. (XBLA tells you what friends are playing). Its so hard to convince people to play the game, cause whenever I try to describe it, I always end up saying, "Its a game were you play as a crazy ninja lady jumping around on rooftops dodging bullets."
Apparently, that doesnt cut it compared to ripping people in half in Gears

I am terrible at the time trials, although I havnt played them a lot yet.

Huh, thats odd, that never really happened to me. Infact, I thought Faith was really good about grabbing poles that I didnt even see and was jumping just hoping I wouldnt die.

My favorite mission is either the one with the sniper rifle (running down the stairs is awesome) OR the factory one.

They can't be compared really. They're totally different. They both have their strong points. Mirror's Edge is far more unique though.

There are only two characters you have to fight in the game, one is really just a QTE to disarm them; the other is a pain cause you've got to deal enough damage to knock them down... but you both regenerate your health so takes a while.

Are you talking about the actual subway were you dodge the trains coming at you? Or are you talking about some thing else?

The scene were they say "Back up ETA 30 seconds", I only fought the first guys, and ran before any one else showed up.

But some of them now are so finely tuned it is untrue. People must play the same level for hours at a time.

By the way Raven, I've been meaning to apologize for the way I treated you in a thread not so long ago. I said some things which were uncalled for and I hope you can forgive me.
I was a little stressed on the day (but that is no excuse to attack you and your personal life in the way I did)

I was going to email you, but as I attacked you publicly I only feel its fair to apologize in the same manner.

Cheers,

I didn't much care for Farcry 2 because the selection was very bad I think I like how some games put you at the lowest rank in it (Bad Company), but Farcry 2 took that way to far! You have to drive rust buckets, the Ak-47 stinks, and the destructible environments...well there were none. Still pretty good game, but I would say it is better then Mirrors edge because it has multilayer.

I love grabbing an uzi or pistol, jumping off a ledge, doing the quick 180 degree turn with the R button and landing behind a blue to shoot up his back.

It feels so rewarding to do a move like that in an FPS.

Or, taking a lightweight weapon, running past a wall or pillar and slide out aiming to your side to take out the guys hiding behind it.

So awesome.

I agree. TBH for the last 2 years, there havent been many awesome games, in comparison to previous years. I do think COD5 is awesome tho.

I wouldn't sweat it, tend not to take anything to personally people say on forums anymore
That said, thank you. Appreciate the sentiment

Actually the only person around here I'm ticked off with still is Jeku but that's more cause of other things said behind the scenes.

^_^

Quote: "But some of them now are so finely tuned it is untrue. People must play the same level for hours at a time."

That's true I guess, one guy I've noticed in particular is someone called Woody who has like the majority of worlds best times and not even by a small margin most of the time. Plus he has like 69 Stars, the dude has no dang life.

Don't get me wrong I don't mind healthy competition it's a good laugh to try to beat, but on Subway 3 I have the 12th fastest time (fastest this week ^_____^) still though those around me have similar times while he smashes all of ours by like 10seconds.

There is definately something not quite right about that imo
Shame almost everyone I know bought Gears 2 over this.

As others have said, there is something truely satisfying about doing stuff you only dream of doing in games like Halo 3 or Gears 2 with relative ease

Since I figured out how to flip off guards to get them all riled up has been such a laugh too hehe

Its quite well executed indeed. Didn't do any time trials really (back to my oldies) and don't think I will. Still trying to get the no kill achievement - I'd like to have that one, eh.

Got it for PS3, great fun, but no doubt I'll pick up the PC version, after all I can't take the PS3 with me when I go back up to Uni. I wouldn't mind hearing how well it runs for people.

I've got it. I have to say, I was a bit dissapointed. Does no one else see the similarity to assasins creed? Great concept, But in the ends its just the same thing over and over.

Yes, aside from the main character being an Asian girl, the setting being in a large futuristic Ikea-city, the perspective being entirely in first-person, and the purpose being to deliver packages as opposed to assassinating people from the middle ages. Aside from all those huge differences, yes

The similarities; running up walls and along them - running away/escaping from people that want to kill you - or fighting them.

Quite vague in similarities. Though as far as 'being the same', I assume you mean the next level is pretty much the same as the last, yes it is, just more challenging each time - you've got to work harder and see new things. The gameplay I think is very good to be honest - sometimes not finding the way can be frustrating, as sometimes you've got to be quick, but you keep trying.

It's very much like Mario World, if you ask me.

I mean, running, jumping. And at some points in MWorld you run up walls.

Any two games will have similarities. End of story.

It's quite possibly just because I really suck at this game, but I find that most of the "puzzles" in this game have to be solved by trial-and-error. This gets rather frustrating after a short while, and it's too bad, because the concept behind this game is actually quite brilliant.

... By all the same thing, I think you mean they were all mad fun, right?

The puzzles confused me, not because they were hard, but because they were never actually puzzles. There were only a few points in the game were I had to stop moving and think of to get from point A to point B.

I simply love the variety of maneuvers you have with your character in the first person view, which in most games is rather limited. I would love to see more games with this kind of character control, and then some. The only thing that bums me out is yes, most levels feel sort of repetative, but really, most games do so it's not really a fault.

I think I'm gonna play this game when I get home. It's been awhile, and I need a good fix

*Will not make a joke about Swedish forum members*

Personally I think Sweden wants to take over the world, to be honest, it'll never happen - that is what Mirror's Edge is trying to tell us, it's subtle, because the developers don't want to get assassinated, which I guess makes it like Assassin's Creed in a way.

True story.
