Presents Urban Hell (tell me what you all think)
Introduction.

The Story

Its the year 2020 and what began as a "war on terror" became one of the most grusome and divided battles of human history. most of europe has crumbled due to border conflicts and now you have been called in to help the situation. You are an assasin, the best of the best. your job is to get behind enemy lines and dystroy strategic targets. Now you face the most difficult challanges of your life as you suffer the blast of a chemical weapon. its desighned to kill and you survived it. you face grusome holusinations as well as the hostiles arund you.

the city is named Kustenstadt (thats german for costal)
There are four forces; the KCPF, The Military, The Renagades (AKA black market), and the NHA (your team)


First level, first battle, outdoor residental area!

Hospital (back enterance) WIP

Level 3, Highway, this is a street that goes under the highway and has what was the city hall beside it. THE SKY WILL BE CHANGED ONCE THE GAME IS BUILT.

Looks really good from what I can see. You're doing nice things with stock art. Do you plan to replace them all with custom as you continue?

i do plan to make a "new and original" looking game with fpsc.ive been making a ton of new entitys. when the game is finished it will have little of no stock items, segmants, or akyboxes for that matter.

i also made theese levels very "dynamic" by putting in puzzels, dystroyabe items, and choice. choice between which way to go. for example the corridors to the left or the foundry to the right. this should give it a better replayability.

more screens of the great outdoors!
this is the basic look of the hospital, it took up 1/4th of the map. im supprised at the frme rate, it only dropped by 2! aith aero disabled it would however be the same as inside the hospital.
there are dynamic lights and im woking on severed humn parts. more screens to come!

Good work Looking Gooood. I like the story line. Once you open up the Demons in the mind that gives you a attic full of adventures. Then you can shake the family tree and who knows what will fall out of it. Keep up the good work.

hmm perhapes you have seen these screens within the past month? the first post is from Nov 10 08.
anywho i have begun the meshes of the hospital equipment and have changed the hospital quite a bit. it will have the same distressed feel but will have more supprises such as a power out and a rather terrifying elevator. its really where the action picks up.

Hospital name K.C.G.H. The Kustenstadt City General Hospital
Level three
screen is the begining of level two, the first battle of that level. this s where you take out a jammer (thing that blocks all radio and satellite transmissons.)

thanks for the comments, to tell the truth this is X9. shocking eh? i have a framerate of 34-38 with windows aero enabled and many enemys.

attached is my computer specz, the WEI score is there two so you can compare it to your machines, well at least vista users can.

ITS a WIP so be nice and make a suggestion for what it should have

whats really demonic is the # of polies, 1964 to be exact. ill give is custom animations and a stylish death

Looking very good. For the character, try giving it a neck, define the shape of the head more, and widen the hips. Looks like a great start though

I think the character looks a little cartoonish. At the moment your game is screaming for something creepier. I'd suggest removing the cape and boots for a start. Perhaps consider going for flesh rather than armour? Or even a cross between and give us quite a disturbing character with scars and wounds where those big robotic gun/melee/whatever hands have been grafted on.

heses a new version of the demon, not sure how ill make the head. added more arm for better scars and i think all add a cross
new poly count so far 2177

to answer some questionz
i follow two rules when designing my level
1 When the player runs by this entity, will he notice it?
2 Can i make a smaller version of this area and have it stil seem large?

and of course triggers are your friend, with them i can have 50-60 people in a level.

Maybe you could show us a screen of your level, in the editor menu. To show us all your triggers, and your level design. That seems to be popular these days.

alright
level one is as follows, it does not yet have sound zones or charicters at the end. it may not look very long but it takes some time to complete due to the puzzles and enemys approx 12-14 minutes

ive exposed much of the level

not 100% sure but a kind of creepy metal ambiance, action and silent metal too + all the other things happining in the game

well its really 1:30 where i am but thats not the point
the point is that level 5 is underway and is going quite nicely

its somthing fpsc is not well known for but im making it work in a lag free manner

remember the skymap will be changed

My only gripe is that whatever you're standing on looks like its texture is a bit stretched, but other than that it's beautiful!

...just want to call to your attention that the word stadt means city, in German. You are being redundant, and calling your city Coastal City City...

thanks for the heads up seth
heres a screene of the WIP highway, i have to model some tall roadblocks like the ones in GOW2
i was not happy with the lightmapping here so im going to try and place another sunlight light and see how it maps.
+
im going to begin modelling the Kustenstadt Stadium all parts will be custom
it will feature a,
-inner city subway station
-food court
-underground parking
-residental buildings that if you shoot the game will end
-a chemical weapon ready for detination
-and metal security doors that are ready for destruction

this level will be a blast!

Gorba, in your other level, roughly how many entities do you have in your largest room? I have been having trouble getting a level to test since I added on a large room with lots of entities.

in the first level the largest room with the most entitys is the final outdoor sceene which currently has
32 static entitys (mainly crates from mp3)
3 dynamic entitys (wood planks to complete a puzzle with)
4 trigger zones (gee i wonder what those are for)
6 charicters
and one win zone

does anybody have or know of a kind of modern day vault/military automated door? link? if not ill add it to my list of things to model

Ive decided to call my game Mind Cage because that seems to suit my game better.

im on top of a monument near the appartment, you will not be able to set here when its done but this was the bast place for a screen, when im finished we will have more lights and this monument in the center of a park

I can see out of the level a bit around the top right. Will the player actually be up there, or was it only for the screenie?
