Iam a bit suprised as the 360 got so many awsome titles that i thought it would be more equal ?
But this is only sales for october as an reminder
The big n seams to do something right as its overpriced compared to the 360 nowdays ?
And iam telling this as an wii fanboy

I'm betting more games have been sold for the 360 even though the Wii is leading in sales for October.

That depends on how you count them as the 360 is overall outstanding in attack rate.
Or simplier games sold compared to sold consoles .
360
23 million consoles divided by 160 million games.

36-37 million consoles divided by 180 million games.
But then must we add in nintendos own titles stand for most sold games with wii sports 32 million and wii fit over 10 million.
360 owners buy more games then there counter part on the wii or ps3
only gears of war 2 sold 2.1 million the first day
fallout 3 sold 4.7 on all systems so i dont know the 360 numbers.
360 have 47 games that have sold over 1 million wii only 29.
but wii is the only one with games sold over 10 million.
Its alot of number crunching that we leave to microsoft and nintendo and sony

wii is starting to get good third party games this year and 360 had it from the start
If you remember so did not many games developer belive in the wii when it came out thats why the better third party game are coming out now for it.
you should not forget that its hard to compare 360 and wii

And we should not forget that the 360 now have sold more then the old xbox during its life time

Is this including the Japan factor? If so, that would make sense as Japan hardly recognizes a non Japanese console.

But the numbers don't really suprise me, given the fact that many Wii sales are a second console to someone who either owns a 360 or PS3.

Being more of a PC gamer, I only have a Wii... because it offers me something different that I can't get on my PC.

Sales numbers are not a good way of determining how good a certain thing is. It just proves how many people like to buy it.
Not saying the Wii isn't good, just saying that no one should judge a console after its sales numbers.

Plus, aren't game sales a better marker (not how good something is, but how well it's doing financially)? AFAIK companies actually lose money for each console sold, and that's even before the price cuts. Is this still true? So, they make up for that in 1st party titles, and licensing fees.

Even success doesn't measure how good something is. I thought the Dreamcast was awesome... guess not everyone felt the same.

Wow this does not surprise me though because as zenassem said you should think of japan I mean I am sure everyone there has 2 Wiis jeez. Kinda off topic, but I am proud of the forums here that this has not escalated into flaming

The sales figures prove the viability of the wii, and the fact their is a great audience for wii games. Maybe more developers will get their act together and make more games that actually use the wii capabilities.

There is a problem, but not much with the actual Nintendo devolopers there not very good at multilayer and that's why I bough an Xbox 360 the Wii is always YOU get a cool experience out of it.

Its more that nintendo did something that sony and microsoft didt think off.....
They aimed for an wider audience and not that much on the hardcore gamers.
Its alot of games being experimental for the wii to push it further.
Many games that hardcore gamers laughs at and thinks is silly.

This is something that both sony and microsoft is trying copy now.
And who blames them actually ???????
The wii is getting some pretty much hardcore games next year with monster hunter 3 ,conduit,madworld and final fantasy crystal chronicles.
Monster hunter 3 whas actually first developed for ps3 and planned to be an ps3 exclusive.
But during development so did the developers find that the game they wanted would cost to much on the ps3 to create.
So they made it an wii exclusive instead as the development cost dropped to less then a third then on ps3.
Many people that likes the wii will never tell you that they like it but play it as soon as they can

I think the 360 is enough in power they should more think of getting it smaller.
Think of it an 360 almost as small as an wii and like the sony being able to insert any pc hd to use with it.
I have bin over at my brother lately alot playing dead space ,far cry 2 and call of duty 5 world at war.(he dosent have fallout 3 and gow 2 yet )
They all looks awesome and plays well but i feel that something is missing in the controls after playing on my wii now for an long time.
And then do i not mean the bad games like red steel that have crappy and flickery controls.
But metroid prime corruption ,medal of honour heroes 2.
And all point and click games works extremely well like zack and wicki.

And for good multiplayer get cod 5 world at war or medal of honour heroes 2 for wii.

The 360 and ps3 is not in anyway bad hardware they are only more hardcore..

The feeling i get with the wii is the same i got with my first snes (super famicom) and that is something magic.
The wii will never compete with microsoft or sony when it comes to hardware power only on how you play games.......
