I would use Chrome primarily, except it's just so damn incompatible. Does anybody else have a problem posting messages here with Chrome?

I find the only problem to be with form submissions. With firefox, if you submit a form, you can then click back and see the form again.
But with Chrome (and IE) if you submit a form, you then cannot go back again. Particularly annoying when doing repetitive updates when editing websites.

As with most people I jump around which projects I work on and which I drop for a while.
Currently I'm back working on Sioux, a Hollywood Western RTS.

I don't have a trouble with any 'bloat' that Firefox has because I use a post '90s PC, maybe you should consider getting one.

Oh and YouTube now has ads on it for Chrome. Thus, Google is evil.

I just did a test. With both chrome and firefox open, on google.co.uk, one tab, Firefox takes up 6.5MB more than chrome. But with firefox website work, There are too many bugs and nucences in chrome for me to even think about using it as my main browser yet. Also you can do a lot more with firefox (Addons etc)

I use Chrome as my mobile office, as it works flawlessly with Gmail, Calendar, Notebook et al.

For general browsing, I haven't switched over yet as there are a few teething problems - Flash doesn't always work, keeps forgetting I'm logged in to sites etc.

Except for a single site (symbaloo.nl), no problems with Chrome here. Highly stable and useable.

No it doesn't. If you search for something, select something, then click back you just get this:

Yes, so do as it says and press F5.

Lovely, by the way, that you have a folder called 'Crack' open.

Well it doesn't say "Press F5", but thanks.

Sorry about all that, its just ive heard a lot of people moaning about chrome, guess they're wrong. Just like all the reviews on GT lately lol.

Actually, General Reed, lemme quote: "Press Reload to resend that data". Reload=Refresh=F5.

If you don't even know that F5 refreshes a page, I'm not surprised you run into problems browsing around in a beta browser. Actually, make that any browser.

Not once on any other browser have i had to press F5. Its always come up saying something along the lines of "You will be required to resend the POST data. What would you like to do?" Options of Retry and cancel.

Im a coder, not a super MS Office nerd.

Which is good, considering:

* F5 has no relevance to refreshing or reloading in Office. I'm not sure what F5 even does in Office

* Chrome and FF are nothing to do with MS at all, and hence the inclusion of MS in your sentence is wholly irrelevant

Come on, do you have to nit pick? Yeah it's kind of hard to believe he didn't know that F5 meant refresh the page, but hey, who cares? Please, you just don't need to rank on him because he referred to microsoft in something that doesn't have anything to do with them.

It also seems kind of odd that google doesn't put in something that asks the user if they want to resend post data and provides buttons to do it(like Reed said happens in most cases). It is still in beta though, right? If so, that might be one of the reasons and will hopefully be fixed.

"Come on, do you have to nit pick?" Exactly. David R, you do know what a metaphor is no?

"Yeah it's kind of hard to believe he didn't know that F5 meant refresh the page, but hey, who cares?"
I actualy didnt know that f5 was refresh, but im not one for shortcuts, unless its a game or a programming IDE, otherwise i dont see the point tbh.

F5 doesn't refresh, cmd/ctrl + R does.

General Reed, I've thought so before, but now I'll say it, you have a severe case of something chronical that has symptons that could be described as: you read a comment about you not knowing something, have to come up with substanceless excuses, then are offended for being called ignorant (usually, though, this is implied through indirect comments/metaphors).

It doesn't matter whether you know F5. The page clearly says 'press refresh', I just expected any sane computer-user to know the F5 button. Heck, even my mother knows F5. She doesn't look like a 'super MS nerd'. Also, you take the time to read reviews about Chrome, but you can't even read a 4-line page prompting you to reload the page?

And, oh wow, Chrome does something different than IE/FF/Opera - how... surprising. A bit like complaining why your new car has remote controlled doors - you never had to use that little remote to open the doors! It's the same way to do the same thing. Not a friggin' 404. Oh wait, a friggin' "Page could not be Found"-error page.

By the way, for a metaphor 'super MS office nerd' is a bit of an odd choice. You just screwed up and came with a lame excuse in hindsight. No need to act as if you're smarter than David here, I'm under the impression he is perfectly aware of what a metaphor is. In the case you actually intended that 'super MS Office nerd' to be a metaphor, you are hereby nominated for the most senseless metaphor award.

I hereby humbly request you to click the back button and not reply here. The back button is in the upper left corner in all (popular) browsers, including Chrome. It looks like a litle arrow/pointer to the left. If you post anyway, after posting, click the 'edit post' hyperlink (usually displayed in blue beneath your avatar (image used to represent yourself as chosen in the settings page)) and remove all trash.

If, by any chance, you decide to post anyway, try the following:

Quote: "Press [Start/Windows]+R, S, H, U, T, D, O, W, N, [space], minus, S, [space], minus, T, [space], 3, 0, [return]. The comma means you need to wait until you've released the previous button.
"

Wow, ive never seen anyone get so het-up about something so diabolicly small and meaningless.

Quote: "And, oh wow, Chrome does something different than IE/FF/Opera - how... surprising. For your infomation, i am now using Chrome, since my little problem was cleared up.

I do not tend to read messages which are displayed in the actual html window, unless im developing a page, then obviously i notice. I just think its stupid that it dosn't do what firefox does, and show a clear message box.

This is just getting pathetic. So what i made a refrence to MS, and Office. Anyone with a brain would know what i meant. Its just like people on this forum saying "Oh why did you type u instead of you"? What are people retarded? Surely you can understand what the metaphor means. If you cant understand then im sorry, if you can then stop being such a suckup.

I am perfectly aware of that. Oh wow i didnt know about the dreaded F5 key. Big f*****g deal. No one cares. Just shows how immature you can get.

Anyway im not replying to anymore of this rubish on this thread. If someone asks a normal question about chrome, that people care about, then if i know the answer i will reply.
