From my experience they seem to more or less find it amusing and not take it on a serious note rather than becoming accepted. They readily accept the idea of porn - they don't think somebody down because they want to look at porn. Personally I called it puberty and hormones - most people will have that curious 'itch', it's instinct, it's a part of us that's animalistic. I think it's better to accept it than put people down for it. Though if you do have a girlfriend, it's a different story (thinking of an amusing bit of gossip here - where the girlfriend caught her boyfriend) because it all really constitutes as 'looking at other women', which is a lack of respect.
The women you're looking at, no, you're not offering them respect, likewise, the men women look at (I mean it's not only blokes that look at porn) they don't respect. Simply because well...I don't want to venture too much into description, but this is different to respected men and women. Women who pose (I'm talking about legal porn here) or act in these things make the choice to do it and know full well what fantasies people may have. But they still make the decision. I have looked at porn and no doubt most people on the forum have (lets not be shy guys) mostly likely have watched it too, but it in know way lower's a persons respect for women. I have a lot of respect for women - to a point where I have criticise my Student Union's Women's Rights Officer for making assumptions about women that I know not to be true. (It was a debate, I ended up doing the research for her)
Also having watched porn, I still refuse to make comments on the attractiveness of my female friends to another rather perverted friend, who jumped at excitement when my female house mate said another girl looked hot. Funnily enough, he's perverted, and doesn't easily get along with girls (he's too nervous), yet he thinks porn is disgusting. I'll leave you to work it out, however I think: watching porn = not respecting women is a silly assumption to make...perhaps being an actual pervert is have a lack of respect for women?
Now the whole forum will know my dirty secret now...bugger, it was best sacrificed in defense of the rest of the forum's bedroom life.
You sir have the moral ambivalence of a mutated shrimp!
