Just wondering if anyone here has used one, and what your thoughts are. Have you found it to help with your modeling?

The SpaceExplorer

I would also be interested in seeing if I could make it work with a dbpro app.

I was thinking of getting one (at least I can afford the $59.00 model), but also was looking at the SpaceExplorer.

I've been using the Spacepilot for 3 years now - single best workflow enhancement to my 3d modeling. Trying to use 3ds Max without it now is like typing with only my thumbs.

Expect a couple days to get used to it though - then you'll have this "wow" moment when you inuitively start panning/zooming/rotating simultaneously and wonder how you every got along without it.

I got the space navigator as a gift and its pretty neat. the only drawback is that it will only work in supported applications. i tried it with Maya at work and it works very well. it also works with Google Earth, which is pretty neat.

they have a list of all supported programs here: http://www.3dconnexion.com/solutions/cad/all_sup_app.php

I bought the Spacepilot when it first came out - that sucker was $500 when I got it! They've dropped the price since then, still worth every penny though.
