Hey all, just wondering your take on this.

I got a GA-8I945PL-G mobo that I want to make last a little longer. I've got a P4 3.4ghz procesosr in there now. I want to stick a P4 Extreme in it, particularly, an SL7Z4 listed here, or one of the models listed here:

http://processorfinder.intel.com/List.aspx?ParentRadio=All&ProcFam=1077&SearchKey=

I can get one for about 80 bucks, which is a darn good deal for something almost up to par with a c2d.

Anyway, my cpu support list is here:

http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Support/Motherboard/CPUSupport_Model.aspx?ProductID=1951

Now, this mobo only "supports" processors with an 800mhz fsb, these 800fsb processors in the EE range are much more expensive or hard to come by. Do you think it'd still work if I downlock it to the 800fsb speed?

It's not just for BYOND you know!
