Is anybody else getting error messages in FaceBook Chat? I keep getting an error that says something like "you are approaching the limit for sending messages. Slow down or you'll hit a block".

wth? I was supposed to be talking to my girlfriend tonight, and now fb chat is giving me grief. So is yahoo...is the internet just broken tonight?

Anybody else having issues?

ROTFL!! Well, umm....yes. Actually, I was going to ask her if she wanted to go for a real walk soon. But I guess she was busy, and since FaceBook was giving me those stupid messages, I wasn't able to. Oh well. I'll just ask her later.

Just use msn, it's better than fb chat, and does the same job.

I've said it before and i'll say it now, over the internet is so impersonal, have you even met this girl since you have been going out with her?
Phone her up or go to her house or something, not everything revolves around the internet.

<yes, the link doesn't work, deal with it.>

Yes, I've known her for nearly two years! I met her at the Renaissance Faire that I worked at in 2007 and slowly became friends, and this last summer we both ended up liking each other as more than just friends. I am going to attempt to call her later today, if the phone is available.

Kay. I am going to see her. Now, to get this back on topic (as my girlfriend was not meant to be it, I'd appreciate it if you all would stop), has anyone had any problems with facebook?

Well then don't name drop in your first post.

To be honest I think you need to stop spewing your personal life all over the internet, if your lady friend did find out, I don't think she would be too happy with it.

And to be honest, even though this is a nice forum, you have no idea who we are. It is unwise to talk about your personal matters with somebody you have never met in person.

Um, seriously? I hardly think this classifies as "spewing." None the less, you are right, in some since.

Just be careful what you say on the Internet.

But, about Facebook: their chat is screwy. I'm not sure why, but I imagine it's due to the low budget of Facebook compared to MySpace (especially considering the more bandwith-intensive nature of Facebook's site compared to MySpace).

I still love Facebook, though.

I was also referring to the thread he made previously. "Has anybody done anything this dorky?" thread.

Yes... I've had the same problem. I am currently blocked from Facebook chat as a result of going over the limit. Life sucks.

Code master...you're in Illinois? I'm around Chicago, where are you from?

And yeah, I just got completely blocked out of chat, and now they're telling me that if I try to send messages they'll disable my account because of 'spamming'. I hate fb chat...

You can use digsby to manage facebook chat, if the problem is their web client (which it probably is). It's just a multiclient IM thing and facebook happens to be one of the protocols it supports. It's worked pretty well for me.

@ code master:

I'm actually closer to Joliet. I have friends in Elgin. Would you happen to have heard of the Bristol Renaissance Faire?

I work summers there, perhaps you could go in the summer of '09 and check it out. They have food...and shiny things! lol.

@ ionstream:

What's digsby? How do I get it?

@ Jeku:

Well, it's a pretty off-topic thread now, so it probably wouldn't be a bad idea, just to prevent spamming.
