I thought this was pretty awesome. I have no idea if it's real because I don't have D2:LoD to test it with, but if so, Blizzard have been planning D3 for ages.

I'll be amused if Diablo 3 is not released on that date.

I dunno, but think why would a developer make something so elaborate, so impossible to find, that you only can find from glitches and sheer chance. It wouldn't really be a benefit or even a good enough of an easter egg or a mystery. The things the guy talks about don't quite flow. It's just a rumour.

It's very easy to be skeptical, I understand that. Considering the sheer ridiculousness of it, it probably isn't real.

But, HOW AWESOME WOULD IT BE? Very awesome. That's how awesome.

Blizzard is, if anything, awesome. Diablo 3 and StarCraft 2 will make me totally forgive them for the abomination that is World of WarCraft.

It seems unlikely that they would hide this in an error message which will almost certainly never pop up - and it seems even less likely that they would actually know the release date for D3 before they'd even finished D2:LoD.

But it would be pretty neat, I guess.

Blizzard has the time to finish off their games good and proper - I somewhat doubt they would bend to fulfil some idiotic number prophecy

Give it awhile for the Youtube vid to pop up by that person with no life verifying this.

That was pretty cool. A bit to 23ish for me, with the insanely unlikely stuff. The error message sounds intentional, but I doubt it's serious. And then, where is there proof of this error message being real? I'll post a thread if it happens, though someone probably will like a week before I even find out.

Well the entire hex thing sounds weird as a coincidence. But then again Blizzard are weird. I know what to do, let's not care about this and just see when Diablo 3 actually comes out.

that was terrifying!

I love how he acts like it's such a tension builder. "Admit you're scared". Bhahaha. What an idiot. "that phrase was ringing in my head for weeks" or whatever. Get out man. Get a life. Breathe some fresh air.

I laughed when he was talking about the ring that no one else has. That's convenient. and he just happened to know exactly where he found it.

IF this is true this would be alot like the Diablo 1 autoplay menu easter egg (no i did not edit the picture other then use the fill tool to show the words)except the diablo 2 thing is much weirder and unlikely, if you can't tell from the picture the words are BUY WAR 1, and NATALIE PORT MAN ROCKS

I'm a noob help will be accepted

This is about as hard to swallow as those people who claimed Bill Gates is Satan because his full name in ASCII = 666. If someone told me that in person I'd want to punch him.

I learned recently that the number of the beast is actually 616, I say 'learned' it was really word of mouth. But who cares? It'd ruin a great Iron Maiden song.
"Six, one, six, is the number of the beast!"

It just doesn't work.

OK, this falls apart at step 1...

25% x 7 x 7 x 7 does not equal 8,575. It equals 5.25!!!!

Quote: "According to recent databases, the prefix Gnaw and the suffix Fold no longer exist, however they did in 1.07. I was one of the lucky few to recieve this ring randomly from as far as my memory serves me, from the gidbin quest."

Aw, shucks. That means we can't verify it. What are the cahnces of that happening. Wait, maybe somebody else has it too. But...

Quote: "In the "Hell" mode of diablo lod, diablo has a 0.05575% chance of dropping a Dol rune"

OK, now there is virtually no chance of verifying it. You need version 1.07, you have to get to the end in Hell mode having performed the Gibdin quest (perhaps), and then you have a 0.05 chance of seeing the scenario play out.

Wow, I never knew about that D1 autoplay thing, really cool though. Although I checked it with the original you gave, and it says buy war 2.

If this whole thing is true, thats mad cool, and keep in mind, they do patch this baby all the time. How hard would it be to change the hex code to be a different date?

This is my WIP, not even ready for a WIP thread yet though.http://smallgroupproductions.com/
