Hi Guy's, Sasuke here and in need of advice on which to pick or alternatives.

The budget is £150 and I’m look for a great 20 to 22 inch DVI supported monitor.

On the radar so far are the ebuyer winter collection:

Screen: Samsung SM2053BW 20" TFT Monitor 1680x1050 8000:1 300cd/m2 2ms VGA/DVI-D
Link: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/143040/show_product_overview
Price: £127.86 inc vat

I've heard this is a nice monitor and there's nowhere else you can buy it for under £150, so that a plus.

Screen: Samsung SM2032BW 20"TFT Monitor Widescreen 1680x1050 3000:1 300cd/m2 2ms VGA/DVI-D Glossy
Link: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/132115
Price: Now £119.95 inc vat

This is cheaper than the first but wasn't, an astonishing £75.05 has been knocked off the price and there are great reviews with this one, though there more and better features with the first, but that price drop just might sway me.

Screen: LG W2252TQ 22" TFT Monitor 1680x1050 10000:1 300cd/m2 2ms VGA/DVI Black
Link: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/142909
Price: £148.88 inc vat

This is here because my friend has one and it crystal clear, Hugh and a bonus has been reviewed to death more than the others.

So what do you think, which is the lucky one to drain my bank account this Christmas, or do you have something better, please let me know.

Look at Acer monitors, i've never had a problem with any of them and they have always been superb quality and long lasting, Failing that, LG is always a good bet.

I'd suggest the Samsung as they're less prone to dead pixels, and they have full HDCP 1.1 support - so if you want to connect your Xbox 360 or PS3 via DVI-to-HDMI it will support them just fine up to 1080p.

I have the HDTV variation of these monitors and they have some superb image and colour quality even in sunlight glare conditions.

I'd suggest going with the Widescreen version as while it's contrast ratio is lower than the Normal version; you'll really appreciate having images fill the entire screen rather than boarder when using Widescreen HD Resolutions.

Personally I'm still waiting for them to support higher colour resolutions, true 32bit colours might be impressive for televisions; but we've been stuck at this colour range for a while on the PC now. With a majority of systems now supporting 64bit processing (and GPUs supporting upto 128bit Floating Point Colour) I think it's time we saw a change from devices to also move forward in this respect.

Always felt it was kinda backward that the trade in space on the desktop from CRT was the drop from 4billion Colours to 16million Colours. Might not bother the adverage user but as an artist, I still find CRT monitors to be a superior solution in that respect.

Just a shame they're quite difficult to get now.

I agree, Samsung ones are always great, and the one above (£127.86 one, first in my list) looks great too.

When you mean Widescreen are you talking about something like the one above or True HD widescreen 16:9, cause 20 to 22 inch 16:9 monitors are hard to find.

Also what would be the difference between a 20 and 22 inch 1680x1050 screen other than the pixels would be slightly larger.

Man, i'm stuck between the Samsung SM2053BW (first in the list) and the LG W2252TQ (last in the list).

Samsung SM2053BW spec:

LG W2252TQ spec:

Theres a ton of info and reviews on the LG, but not on the Samsung, but you usually don't need to worry about anything Samsung. But still, which one?
