Here's a few pictures of the thriller themed game I'm working on. I don't have a complete story line yet, because I need to work out my lighting problem, and I need to collect some more media (lol).

This room is really dark for a reason: theres a secret way out...that sounds so cheesy, lol.

Lol, its a fairly large level. I'm aiming to make it a puzzle game mixed with the basic elements of a horror/thriller. There will be lots of shooting, but probably lots of "I have to stop playing, this is too scary" (hopefully lol). I'm hoping to implement a flashlight (like Half Life, Doom 3 etc) because I want it to be as dark as possible, leaves you wondering around in the dark, scared.

Well, in my scientific endevours, I completely messed FPSC up some how (some error: Bitmap line missing..or something). I'm gonna muck around with it today and hopefully get more screens of another level.

Thanks for your comments!

Alright, I managed to fix FPSC (its a miracle), and started on a new level. The level is a large complex of some kind. I tried implementing the flashlight script, it works...kindov. Not really as good as I thought it would. All it really does, is turns all the lightings ambient level down when its on, rather than turn the ambient lighting up in the "veiw". Maybe I did something wrong. I'm gonna muck around with it a bit more.

I'm hoping to try and create a small town enviroment, with roads and shops etc, I just need to make or find a good road pack.

And yes, these shots do have something to do with the mutant/spider/zombie infested derelict mansion featured above. Lol. I'm also going try and get my hands on some blood overlays to fill the walkways, as they do look awfully plain.

Too many screens lol.

You gotta kinda tease us with them, not show it all at once.

Looks good though.

Light sources are needed in some of the new screens. Other than that it looks really good

Alright, I got sick of my levels that featured above. So I deleted the levels and screenshots, and created new ones, because I had way to many. Lol. Hopefully in about a week, I'll be able to release a demo..cause I think this levels so much more sick..I worked out how to use trigger zones..

The whole idea of the game is to have shadows for things to hide in..and I'm not talking about enemies. I've tried to add heaps of puzzles in this first level, it requires you too look around in the dark for clues and hints on how to progress. I'm going to figure out how to have images appear by trigger zones, so I can have clues on bits of paper you find. I'm having so much fun creating this so far, and hopefully a demo won't be too far off.

Sweet screenshots, man! Very nice use of the stock media, too. Better than most attempts I've seen. Good work!

Okay, thats alright. I guess. lol.

rakker126, I would email you the demo but you have not provided an email to TGC! (or me)

[off topic]
last friday (not the one that just passed) one of our flatmates fractured his skull skateboarding (everyone here skates...its a way of life..lol) and this friday just passed we had to ring an ambulance because he felt nauseas and had the symptoms of brain swelling....anyway..we visited him today in the ICU and I got this mad idea for a game! the idea involved strange drug testing in some sort of facility..with bizzare enviroments and strange, trippy situations. so i started making some weird levels with weird things. i've got tonnes of questions involving entity angles, positioning and scripting that i've got to look up and test etc, i might post some screens here..later!

Yes, best wishes for your friend!

I'd try a beta of the game for you, if you want. Where can I give you my email address? I'm not entirely sure if I can give it out on public forums.

This is looking really nice! I especially like the lighting. Only thing that I don't like, is that some of the rooms look pretty empty.
