Lucky...

I never go shopping on Black Friday. I do all of my shopping either before or after. This year I have to do it after...which won't be bad.

What's Black Friday?

All these strange holidays, it was only Thanksgiving a couple of days ago lol, I needed Red vs Blue to tell me what that was about, and I still don't get it...

Black Friday isn't a holiday, it's the day after Thanksgiving where there's low prices at about every store.

Thanksgiving was yesterday, not a couple days ago, lol.
But yeah, black Friday is the day after thanksgiving where all the stores have ridiculous sales and everyone goes insane trying to beat each other to death over a pair of shoes.

Lol, may I ask why? I'm slowly understanding that Thanksgiving is thanking the natives who helped you in your early years, and then were hunted to near extinction by cowboys, (according to Hollywood).....

Sort of a mixed message IMO....

They now call it Black Friday becuase refers to the time when most retailers go from being in the red (losses) to being in the black (showing a profit). But it's origins are more closely linked to being a high traffic day, and referenced to Black Tuesday 1929 when the stock market crashed.

As for the Indians, we tried to make it up to them by giving them unwanted land (usually near military bombing ranges) and Casinos and tax free smoke shops!

Thanksgiving, as I understand it, is when you give thanks for all the good things you have in life, or just for life in general.
The FIRST thanksgiving was mainly dedicated to the native Americans, because it was only thanks to their help that the pilgrims survived.

All that work making a pandoras battery and magic memory stick, and I then find out it doesn't work in my slim

I believe the first thanksgiving was actually about the pilgrims thanking God for providing them safe travel into America... But to each his own. It is pretty much about remembering to be thankful for all the good stuff you have, and even the bad.

Yes, without the bad, you wouldn't be that grateful for all the good in life.

I'd say without the bad, I'd be quite a bit happier and more thankful.

But the whole idea behind being thankful is to be thankful for the good AND the bad. Like Grandma said, without the bad you wouldn't be thankful for the good. Without being thankful, you loose site of the important things.

Good or bad alike, Life is a gift.

Pff, like thanking a kidnapper for helping you realize how much you love your kids

Sounds to me like an excuse to justify the bad things in this world.

So far my PSP has been a waste of money. I only have two games that I enjoy.

Besides homebrew.

I am grateful for the bad things in life because it made me less selfish and more alert to other people's suffering thus making me a better person.

Or something.

Most epic occurrence ever.

I thought it was topical because it took place during Thanksgiving break.

And it's funny.

Throw me a bone.

Yep in Valley Stream, Long Island NY. About an hour or so from my house. Really sad, and those people who were involved should be arrested. Though I don't know how you determine who is the cause when a few thousand people push forward.

I might add that many of the people there were kids. People brought their little kids, in these huge crowds of thousands...unbelievable...
