I just started up Dragon Quest VIII and saw that I've got 135 hours of playing time on it! So I figured if I've got this much time on a game like this, you guys must have like ten times that amount on games like Diablo 2 and WoW. So what's the most play time you have on a single video game?

76 hours. Oblivion
59 hours. Final Fantasy XII
35 hours. Final Fantasy IX (doing all of the side quests/mini games...except I was 1 item away from completing Chocobo Heaven, which I never did. )

Those are my top 3.

For Oblivion, I feel I am still short (especially hearing or people kicking up 250 hours on the damn thing) - I have really only completed the Main quest, the Shivering Isles Quest, The Mages Guild Quest and most of the Dark Brotherhood quest. I still have many more quests to go through.

You sir have the moral ambivalence of a mutated shrimp!

I've sunk well over 1000 hours into the Pokemon Gameboy/Gameboy Advance games.

I don't know how many hours, but Transport Tycoon consumed pretty much every evening during my last year of primary school. Good times

On a slightly different tact, I once stayed awake for 42 hours, and the last thing I did before sleeping was complete Leisure Suit Larry VII.

I don't think I've spent more than 15 hours on a game, unless you count casual games like Bejeweled and Peggle. I have a hard enough time sticking with a game after 10 minutes let alone 142 hours

1. MSN Spades : Over 5000 games and even if an avg game was 20 mins, it works out to 1,666.66 hours

2. WOW : Not even sure about the # of hours

3. SimCity 2000

I'm surprised no one has mentioned World of Warcraft except Zenassem. My older brother has at least 800 hours on that.

Well, I have 54 days on WoW. So about 1,300 hours. I probably had even more than that on Halo 2 since I had about 15,000 games played not including campaign.

I'm sure I have about 54 days solid on WOW. I played consistantly for a little over a year, and I had off work for much of the summer and was averaging a good 4 hours a day for much of it. The other weeks I was probably averaging 2 hours a day.

so roughly : 54 days = 24 hrs * 54 = 1296 hrs
playing 2 hours a day * 7 days a week * 52 wks = 784 hours
playing 4 hours a day * 5 days a week for 12 wks = 240 hours

so rough total hours = 1024 hrs = /24 equals # of days = 42.66 days

Not counting online games(which I don't play that much anyway) of any kind, I've certainly spent a couple of hundred hours playing various Final Fantasy games and Morrowind.

Probably Diablo 2 for me. I have no idea how much time, but I've played that game a lot since before LOD came out.

If not that then some classics, like Mario 3, Mario World, or Donkey Kong Country. I've put a lot of time into those three games.

You playing that on the PC with steam? I'm Crazy Ninja on there as well, add me to your friends if you'd like. I bought the orange box about 2 or 3 months ago and i got to be honest, TF2 is one of the best online shooters i've ever played, definitely clocked a lot of hours on it.

Actually now at 55 days lol. But that's nothing compared to some people I play with. One of my "guildies" has 108 days played. Yes 108 days. One of my buddies has 73 days. And another guild member has 80 something. I don't know how there is enough time but I guess there is.

In World of Warcraft, type /played in the chat window and it tells you how long you've been playing total, and how long you've been playing at your current level. I'm surrounded by WoW junkies.

It's difficult to figure out which is longest for me. I've flown around the world in MS Flight Sim in a Beechcraft King Air... it took a very, very, very long time, lol. I remember it was about 19,000 nautical miles, I'd hazard a guess at maybe 150-300 hours total. I kept a log during the flight but can't remember off hand how long exactly it ended up being. I'm sure for total time played though MSFS has to take the cake, I can't even begin to guess how many hours I've logged in that game.

Otherwise, it's probably one of the GTA's, I've beaten all of them up to 100% except GTA4, I'm stuck at 92% and can't work out what I'm missing. I never use cheats or walkthroughs, I'm a purist gamer lol, except in games that never end like The Sims or Tycoon games, but even then I only use them sparingly . Anyway, GTA4 probably takes the cake because I've spent an unholy amount of time trying to figure out what's keeping me from 100%.

Halo 3 ~1,090hr (45days)
It's the only one with statistics I can really think I sunk much time in to really.

That said I spent nearly 3 years playing Elite 2 - Frontier; almost daily for an adverage of about 4hours a day.
So that's what about 4,350 hrs or 180 days of gaming time.

Intersting to see this right after closing Oblivion. I've just beaten the Main Quests.

Dear Lord, don't get me started.

Pokemon: There's no telling; probably 400+ at a minimum.
Morrowind: 200+ (easily; maybe more)
Oblivion: 85
Final Fantasy III DS: 64
FF IV DS: 60
GTA Series: Who knows; a ridiculous number, I'm sure.
Diablo & Diablo 2: 200+

I'm loving this thread.

Are you guys just making rough estimates?

I really have no idea how long I've played Oblivion. But go figure, I'm playing it right now.

This is true. Thing is, the old battle system is hard to revert to after playing the new one...I'm hoping they fix this stuff in the next game...

I've been playing Morrowind since it came out, on and off. So I guess I've spent a good 2 months on it.

But I make up for it by playing little else.

1035 hours of Counter Strike Source is my lifetime record But recently I downloaded Mount & Blade yesterday and managed to play that from 6pm to 7am with no breaks. Suffice to say I'm pretty exhausted and don't know how I'm going to get up for lecture tomorrow.

All i can think about is knocking people off their feet with quarterstaves and landing archery shots on villainous nords from a mile away.

312 on morrowind on one of my saves, still playing it now and love it to bits. Mods add a lot of life to it. I've rarely got times for RPG games lately but i had a day off today and played eternal sonata for 9 hours straight. I feel like i wasted my day though...

No, we're going by the time counters. The Oblivion time for your save is under its title on the Save menu.

More recently I've been playing Fallout3, probably put 20 hours into that so far.

But that's small potatoes, for about 30 months I'd play Captive on the ST for a couple of hours a day, so between 15 and 20 hours per week, solid. That's roughly about 2000 hours playing the same game save. It was a Dungeon Master style RPG, but had these really complex levels and each one can take a day or so to get through. They worked out that on average you could complete it if you played for 50 years straight.

It doesn't seem like long ago that we'd see games with 40+ hours of gameplay, now it seems 12 or even less hours gameplay is acceptable pfft!. 40+ hours gameplay seems to have died with the Playstation.

Quake Wars has gotta take the cake for number of most hours recorded: 110 minus maybe 10 hours played by friends and family, each game is 20 minutes so thats a LOT of games. 300 to be precise, not cosidering the 10 or so games I've played against bots and the days of modding sunk into this game.

I also have to mention was my first 3D game and the only game I played for 3 years. However I only gamed for an hour a day at the most and I usually had many days were I didn't play at all. Also I no longer own it and have no records or idea of how long total I've played it. My best guess would be upwards of 500 hours.

Also after Quake 2 I got Quake 4, but again, I have no way of tracking hours played/modded/online. I'd guess 600+ and growing as I still enjoy it.
