last night i turned my PC off after it installed some new Microsoft update
this morning when i turned it on it got past the loading bar
past the choose account screen and then the monitor like turned of when i clicked on my account. but the PC kept doing stuff.

so i loaded it up in safemode and i ran AVG 7.5 free edition to check for any viruses, i had 3 things (no viruses)
1.) Reading Error: boot error in drive C:
2.) some .dll
3.) some .exe

because AVG didnt help i ran regcure which i never knew i had
to see if it would fix any of these 3 problems, it fixed over 1000 problems but didnt fix any of them =/

i restarted pc
still only could run in safemode

i read on the internet that AVG has a problem so i disabled some boot thing in AVG, didnt help
so i uninstalled AVG and still didnt help
and all the stuff on the internet say AVG causes this problem.

ive had my PC for... year? and i have had this problem before and last time i only had to run the pc in safe mode then restart from there and it fixed.

if anyone has the solution please help

i dont want to format by pc cos i havnt backed up my game ive been making

yeah, i dont know how to get it on vista. But my vista comp did it automatically this morning. I rebuilt it because i got the same problem. reinstalled everything yesturday then it restores and i lose absolutely everything. Im most deffinately downgrading now.

So just rebuild it and it should randomly restore itself when you installed all of your programs again. Or you can probly find a system restore button somewhere (if you have a Lenovo computer, you just have to go to lenovo care and click restore, im sure that other computer companies have the same sort of thing)

Whatever problem you had, it's not a vista issue. I've been running vista happily for 2 years now

My brother got the same thing with his laptop and the same update. It looks like outscape is also experiencing the same thing.

I think it'd be worth your time to learn how to properly use Vista
