Warp is an action Scifi and World War 2 mix. This may sound cliche, but it all makes sense on paper.

Story: You are a British Commander named Luke Mcee. The second world war has ended for the most part and all that is left of the Nazis is a couple of military encampments. You are sent on a "cleanup" mission to take out one of these isolated encampments. Before you go, your commanding officer gives you a peice of cloth with a bunch of numbers that resemble a coordinates of some kind. The Nazis in the encampment are easily delt with and you secure the area with no problem. Inside one shiping crate though, is a strange machine that glows blue in the middle. Using a keypad to the side, you type in the numbers given to you and step into the machine. Suddenly the lights go out and some holograph comes up with the words "unknown coordinates". Next thing you know, you're falling into the ocean, almost getting eaten by a shark, and then, you are inside some kind of building.

Not going to go any farther with the story for right now. Trying to keep the human violence to a minumum to acheive a T rating. Here is a screenshot of the first level.

Here is the link for a small 1 level demo of a unique boss battle. Please rate this demo on a 10 to 1 scale. Loking forward to reviews, good or bad.

The overall layout is actually quite good, I like it. However, seriously scale down the ambience and add lighting to the area. Not bleak, boring white but perhaps brown or yellow?

Again, the exact same in the second screen. A small, single light on the wall illuminating everything else would look nice. Don't forget light sources.

Thanks for the suggestion. Another note is that ther will be an easter easter egg on each level that can be reached by exploration, skill, and in some cases, shooting the ( Edited ) out of every wall you see.

I actually like the docks; just add a few WWII street lights, yellow lights around all 4 sides of them, set down some crates and a sandbag wall & you're set.

I like it even more with suitable props.

If you can model or have money, you can easily make or get a U-Boat and submerge it in the water.

I a skipping to level 4 of warp. Here is a vertigo inducing screenshot. FPS can get a little low at times, but whats not to like about jumping on rooftops? Please donot comment on the lighting. I am getting the actual game part done first.

Hahaha, no offense to the creator, it looks like it's coming along nicely, but please, take it easy on the crates and barrels, as it just looks like a warehouse game.

I can't say I didn't see that coming. OK. Guess its time to open up the story a little bit more. The teleportation device malfunctions when you typed in the coordinates and sent you to a random place in the future. By the way, the Nazi encampment is Disguised as a warehouse. And also, I will be changing the types of barrels so it dosn't look so fake.

How can a camp be disguised as a warehouse? That's just ridiculous.

It looks like a camp, with crappy bunk beds, a cremator, a fire pit, a pharmacy/doctor building, and gallows.

At least, that's how I imagined it after reading Night by Elie Wiesel. (great book btw)

There's a crapload of barrels at your disposal. At least 10 in MP3, and some in scifi and ww2.

This is now the creatures list.

Mole Worm: A giant worm that has a spear like retractable tongue that it uses to impale the player and his alies. Features an exicution move involving ripping the creatures spear-tongue off and preceding to drive it through the worms head.

The demo is coming out soon. It will include the first, second and third levels of the game. Should be out sometime tommorow. Weapons included are the Colt and the mp40. PS: You may notice a shortage in health packs. This is because I want to keep you on your toes. Snipers are now more scary than ever. They are spot on accurate and can destroy your beutifull stockpile of health in seconds.

I am at the moment implementing new gameplay factors to make the game more chalenging and fun, as well as adding something unique into the game.

First change: Non human enemies will be like individual mini boss battles. They each have 200 health. This is to encourage strategy and more thought being put into each encounter.

Second change: I am adding a anti force gun into the future levels. This gun does no damage but instead, is used to knock things of of areas you couldn't reach otherwise. An example of its usage is, say you are battleing a squad of Fumes (machine enemies). There are too many of them to kill by sheer force, and so you must think of another way to kill them. Pulling out your anti force gun, you hit a flammable barrel off a gantry above them. As it falls to the ground, you pull out your rifle. The barrel lands right in the middle of the squad, and before they know what to do, you shoot the barrel and blow them to next week.

Third change: You will gain mechanical abilaty enhancements as you go along. The enhancements you gain include; Faster run speeds, higher jumps, and increased strength.

Fourth change: Who wants to play as a Fume?

Note that these are mostly to help the player withthe near indistructable enemies they encounter in the future, and to add a better and more unique gaming expeirience.

OK. The first adjustment has been made. Although 200 health seems like something you would put in a boss character, the Fumes can easily be killed by someone who uses cover and the environment around them. In fact, cover in this game has the charm of cover in Gears of War.

If you use an anti-force gun there will be problems. How does it affect characters for a start? Also, things like this that manipulate physics are used in environments FULL of physics objects (HL2 for example). The gun isn't going to work if more things are static because it will just defeat the purpose. However, if you make everything dynamic then your going to have lag problems.

In response, I must say that you are right in saying this, but I have been testing in all dynamic rooms, and they look great. Hell, I'm running on a 8600 and I still get good FPS. Although it will not be as dynamic as half life, it will be dynamic enough to make players feel more involved.

The Red Eclipse Foundation was origionaly tasked with the revolutionary work of mechanical replacements for human body parts. The director eventually found that these Bionic parts were better suited and had more advantages than human parts. This led to a breakthrough in military science for America. The Chinese Revolutionary Director, a terrorist with plans for these enhancments, orders the kidnaping of the director. He then proceeds to torture the poor man in ways that had not been seen since WW2. In the end, his legs and arms were no more than stumps. Still refusing to talk, the terrorists threw him out into the wilderness and left him to die. It was just his luck that a would be raiding party found him and brought him back to the United States. There, without his consent, the directors arms and legs were replaced by robotics. This scaring, sad to say, was not only physicly. His genuis had taken a turn for the worst. The director orderd the emidiate construction of the machines now known as the Fumes. Then with a command on his computer terminal, all of the Fumes turned against sentient beings. The result was 10 times as horrible as the Holocaust as people were slaugtered by the thousand by the very machines that aided them in their daily lives. People with biotic body parts beat themselve to death. They also, unknowingly killed the director in the prosses, ending his miserable existence. that is a sad story..........

Alright, slight change in plans. The demo is not finished and so it will have to wait. Sorry, but I have no place to put it, the voice acting is not done, and there are still enough bugs to prevent decent gameplay. Once again, I am sorry.

PS: The beloved blue barrels have mostly been removed and various other barels have taken their place.

Completely untrue, unless he's posting pictures.

IMO there's no excuse for that either, just use image hosting and post them all in one go.
