For the past few weeks I've been trying to get onto adobe.com but have never been able to. They sent me an email today advertising products and I was unable to access the pages that were linked to in the email. I'm no expert but advertising a website that cannot be accessed is probably not a good business plan

Is anyone else able to access the website? I've tried in Chrome, IE and Firefox but most of the time I've been trying with Chrome.

I use it daily to access their livedocs service, and it has been working fine. A site like Adobe.com doesn't go down for that long without the popular media picking up on it, and there's nothing out there.

In short, it's your problem.

What IP do you get if you ping adobe.com ?

I cleared the cache on all 3 browsers and now IE and Firefox work but Chrome displays an error page (screenshot attached). The IP I get is 192.150.8.43 when pinging.

Thanks for your help

I have issues accessing Adobe.com from my school's network. Which is rather odd.

If Adobe's site is as unreliable as their Creative Suite 2 (Flash's pen tool constantly screws up) I wouldn't be suprised. It does seem to work though.

Interestingly, it doesn't appear to have been made using Dreamweaver.

You're still using CS2? Get with the times, there up to CS4 now.

Still, it's quite a major bug in the last release of CS2. It appears to stem from a pointer being incorrectly manipulated or something when it simplifies three points almost in a straight line to two points. The next line drawn is drawn from the point before the one it should, and if that point doesn't exist the software will crash.

And who can afford CS2, let alone CS4?

I'm well aware of that, but CS2 is so old. And I wasn't even suggesting he get it, I was commenting on the fact that he was even discussing such an old version. I could understand if he was mentioning a bug in CS4 or even CS3, but whats the point of talking about a bug that will never get fixed? If they're up to CS4 now, why on earth would they release an update for CS2? I'm fairly certain that CS3 isn't even available for download from Adobe anymore. Although, that may have just been the trial download that they took down...

I know not everyone has that type of money, but a lot of people do, and if they don't, they save up or do extra work or whatever to get enough to get it.
CS4 really is a whole new level of awesome. Flash can now do 3D, and it has bone systems now, Dreamweaver has a MUCH better in-editor preview browser, and everything has just been made so much better.
A lot of people would scrounge and scrape and save in order to upgrade even if they didn't have any trouble using CS3.
Anyway, I'd rather not get into a big argument over this, so lets just let it drop.
