Its a downgrade from the movie we where promised several years ago but I'm looking forward to it.

Can they still pull it off though? It's been what a good decade since they have played those characters. What about Kristine Kochanski? Don't tell me she died doing those suicide missions.

Better late than never...Did anyone else notice how Rimmer was wearing the "H" on his head (I thought the Nanobots rebuilt him back to life!?!?)

Didn't he die again shortly thereafter? (Like, later on in that episode)

Rimmer becomes Ace Rimmer. Then, the nanobots rebuild Red Dwarf (and all it's crew, including Rimmer)

ArK, you're thinking of Timeslides, when at the end, he realises he's alive, then get's blown up and bombarded with cardboard boxes.

Something like that, havent watched them in ages..

Yeah series 8 if you remember the nanobots rebuilt the whole red dwarf and they had to go through that chemical induced trial to prove that it was all true (Back in the Red).

Series 8 was crap though so maybe they have decided to do something completely different and move away from it- remember Back to Reality. It could still all just be a game.

Im pretty sure that Rimmer is alive and well (as well as a smegg head can be anyway)...I recall on the last episode of series 8, Death attempted to claim him, but Rimmer kicked Death square in the nuts, and said "only the good die young" and ran, Lol

Series 8 was pretty lame.

It was just too repetetive, and not as funny as the other serieses.

Yeah thought series 8 was the worst, it was still ok just not as good as the others. But yeah in the final episode, the other's (Cat, Lister, Kryten, Kochanski) pass through the mirror/portal into the opposite dimension and Rimmer is left in the dimension where Red Dwarf is being destroyed.

Red Dwarf is awesome, I hope they get around to making a film before the cast get too old.

Judging by "the Rovers Return Inn" its going to be set in Coronation Street. So.. I have my conclusions on how it may turn out.

Looks like a return to the old series with just the four of them. Those were the best.

But no Holly (I would even settle for the not so awesome female Holly, played by Hatty Haybridge. Hilly, her name was.)

IMO the only reason female Holly wasn't as good as male Holly was because they introduced Kryten as a full time cast member and Holly wasn't used as much anymore...

I personally preferred the female Holly's ditsy personality more than male Holly's deadpan personality...

I'm very excited about some new episodes, I have watched all the DVDs so many times (and watched my VHS videos to death before getting the DVDs) unfortunately I won't be able to see any of this (until it gets, IF it gets a DVD release) since I'm living in Australia

They grew on me during the last couple of days. I like them! I think I'll go watch the old episodes soon.
