I'm about to buy these 3d glasses. I guess left4dead is supported in 3d in the latest nvidia stereoscopic driver release, so I'm hyped to try it out in 3d. Any reason I shouldn't get these, or know a place I can get these cheaper?

I don't understand how shutter glasses can work with a LCD display. I didn't think they refreshed quick enough.

What good is knowledge without a degree of understanding?

umm... I'm probably missing something here, but...
Why would you spend $70 on 3D those glasses when you could probably get a 10 pack of the ones below for a few bucks?

I have a CRT that runs at 100hz on 1024x768, and 120hz at 800x600, so it won't matter. But I gather they'll work well on 120hz LCD screens, but are very flickory on 60hz screens.

Shutter glasses aren't discolored. It'll look like 3D in real life, not like I'm walking around with red/blue glasses on

I got mine for free from Argos, ok so they have Hanna Montana on them, and I actually sent my son in to get them.

But they are quite good fun to mess around with, Trackmania Nations Forever supports them and does a great job.

I got some free when I went to see Bolt 3d (quite funny in parts, don't knock it until you've tried it). I was expecting some of the old style blue/red lenses but these look more like 2 polarizing filters.

Aye, I got a pair of these when I went to see beowulf. Didn't know it was a 3D film, I though they were handing out sunglasses

They do look like pale sunglasses, not red and blue.

Those are different than the 3d glasses I'm getting. The theater glasses work off polarized light, the glasses I'm looking at block all light from the left or right side depending on what's being shown on the monitor.
