Hello,

This level is a part of my game called Red Eye.

Sure I added some things, and some I deleted. Because I want to make my game first in FPS Creator and then add more things with DarkBasic Proffesional (wich I am learning), my final game is long way from coming out.

This is my very first Game (part of a Game) that I post in this board.

Download: Link to Download

File Size:

Setup.exe: 148 Mb
Hard Drive: 348 Mb

Things You may want to know:

Framerate: Around 25 Frames Per Second (FPS)

Flash Appearing on the Screen:

This is part of the story. It is appearing because you have been drugged. I am not gonna copy and paste the whole story here because then it would be 5 pages long.

Screenshots: Below.

Comments and Feedback are Welcome.

*I know that the shadows aren´t that nice. But that is because when I build my game with lightmapquality set to 60 it crashes while calculating object light. And when I reduced it to 30 and 20 it still didn´t work. Only on 10.

This is what I came up with, and it works:

Note: I think it didn´t work, because the level contains alot of lights.

Screenshots: The folowing screenshots are just of the first rooms, and not of the whole level. I didn´t want to show you guys everything.

The Room, While Playing:
I think the best place to play this game is in a room with the lights off, and only your computer on. The sound not too low, and also not too high. You can use your HeadPhones, but not recommended. I like the surround system more.

Bye,

Red Eye Productions

Looks nice, I'll see if COZ is up for any more judges if I'm up to the horror scares.

I didnt use many shaders... What are you talking about, segment shaders? I use relief shaders, further in the game, did you played the whole game? and used the light shader (name? illuminitiont shader) ... and the gun shader from COZ If you play the whole game you will see

Looks really cool, I'll download it soon.

EDIT:

Unfortunately, I couldn't get it to work, either. The game closed as soon as I opened it with a pop up saying "debug string gamecore", and it closed. I wonder what that means...

Okay, I got it to work.

The level design was really well done, I liked it. It was laggy, because it was an enormous level, but overall it was done well. I didn't care for the zombies much, though. While they were startling, it didn't make sense how they just appeared. It was a bit predictable at times, as well. The menu screen was really cool, though.

A very nice effort.

that is very true, but gonna change that, for example a hole in the ceiling or something like that, or with a cutscene, but that is in the final version, this was for the contest

I played this last night.

Main Menu: Very nice...although very derivative of Doom3. With that in mind, I expected the level to be something very similar to Doom3, but when it begin I was in a corridor made...stone!? It seemed somehow like you taken inspirational from some bits of your level from Doom3, and others from what I imagine Castle Wolfenstein must be like (I haven't played it, but the spiral staircases, the uneven stone-work on the wall, it made it feels like a castle).

The sound was very atmospheric, and I did enjoy being scared by it

The level was also lit well too, though occassionally the shaders looked out of place. The p90, for example, looked white. I assume that's not how it was supposed to look. While we're talking about weapons, I have to say that the last guns you picked up, i think it was a colt45, was quite honestly one of the best-looking weapons I've ever seen in FPSC. It was just so...
I want it, please tell me where you got it.

I wasn't a great fan of the zombies popping up behind you, and there was one enemies, a small one, that didn't appear at all hence i died. I had to look for its shadow in order to shoot it.

The box stacking at the end came out of the blue for me. I expected a big gun fight. I mean there was that room with all three types of ammo on the shelf; I saw that and thought "uh oh, boss fight coming up". It did enjoy it though, but I somehow thought the pressure could have been piled on a bit more. I know how.

Overall, a very good start. I think this level has a few identity problems but it still did a very good job and keeping my interest, but above all, scaring me just before I went to bed.

7/10

you dont need to give all the shaders, just one or two , the file that i made isnt that difficult, I think making shaders are a pain in the a*s...

Do you want extra blood textures? For the bloody floor?
