Hi everyone,

I would like to advertise a site I will start to develop along with some friends. The site is called GameStampede. For now, nothing is done; only the idea is found, and I would like to know if you would be ready to use the services we will offer you.

GameStampede is a site where you can upload your games for free; would they be flash games or 3D games to download, we would host them for nothing and let everyone who has an account download and play them.

If you ever have some questions about the ongoing project, you can either ask them here or (I recommend) send an e-mail to [email protected].

Have a nice day everyone and please, tell me what you think about this site. Thanks ^^

It might have been a better idea to announce this after you had created a sample look for your site.

I certainly think the idea is good and I will most definitely use it if it would allow me to upload games created with DarkBASIC (which I'm positive you're allowing. ). I think it would be really cool if you set it up so that you could browse games by genre (i.e., Action, Adventure, Platformer, First Person Shooter, etc.,). It would also be cool if each game had a showcase-type window in which screenshots of the game in action were displayed in a slideshow, and a section for detailed information on the game, and provide a link to the developer's site.

Good luck! I certainly hope you get this off of the ground! Please post a link as soon as you can.

There have been dozens of posts offering this kind of deal over the years. Unfortunately - even if you intend to do it right - the idea is tarred by the dozens of people that have tried it before you.

The first problem is that people will see it as a scam to get people to part with their games. The second problem is that there are already hundreds of sites doing this.

Very sorry to put a downer on your idea, but it's better said now than when you've spent a long time on it.

Yes I understand, and It's why I've not started the project yet: I wanted to be sure about it.

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com was a site that is like the one you are describing, and while it was awesome, it's quite dead now.
