Bought ebay item, not enough in my paypal, had to transfer money from bank to paypal, took 10 days then failed, not sure why, I have more than enough in the account, cant wait 10 days to repeat the transfer request from the bank into my paypal account, the seller will not like that I'm sure.

How can I pay for my item, can paypal let you send money by paypal that you don't have in the paypal account.

Options?

Get a paypal credit card, will that enable you to pay by paypal for the ebay item.

Ive heard of one off paypal credit card, or others that enable you to have one off payment, perhaps that will do.

Just what are my options to pay for this ebay item without taking another 10 days to transfer money from my bank account into paypal? As 10 days is too long for the seller to be expected to wait on top of what they have already waited.

I often use paypal to pay for ebay items with nothing in my paypal account.

I've setup paypal to take the money straight from my debit account, which is an instant process.

If you can; do that.

Debit account, does that mean your bank account? Did you have to set up anything different, how do I know if mine does that. It knows my bank account, because when you set it up you have to give it one, otherwise it wont set up the paypal, so it knows my bank details. Does that mean I can make payments with paypal above whats in the paypal, and it will just take it from my bank account. Or do you do something else? Did you do something more to enable it to take from your bank account?

I just tried doing the paypal without having enough funds in paypal, it asks for a card number if one doesnt have enough funds in the paypal.

That's the card it will transfer the funds from. I've already setup my card to do this, so by the looks of it you just have to type in your card number.

I set mine up about 4 years ago now, but if you go to 'My Account' in PayPal and then 'Add Funds' then you see this explanatory message:
Quote: "You may make payments from your bank account without adding funds to your PayPal balance.

However, if you feel more comfortable knowing that there are funds in your PayPal balance, you may add them now. While waiting for the funds to clear, you may continue using your PayPal account as usual."

Yeah mine is linked to my bank account so when I pay for something with paypal it just takes it straight out of by bank account. I believe you have to 'verify' your account somehow with your bank account number/sort card, it sets up a direct debit on your bank account then. I also have a 'premier' account, don't know what that means exactly but that might have something to do with it.

I have a verified paypal account. I use it all the time and never keep money in there as it's simply linked to a debit card or checking account. Didn't even know there was any other way.
