Yes, lots of people around here have pretty straightforward names. However, there are others I often wonder about (Jerico Two-Day? Jerico Today?).

So sound off, all you hard-to-pronounce people! Now we can finally say your names right in our heads as we type them .

Mine isn't too hard: bee - mac - zero

I noticed that it wasn't snail, but have great difficulty stopping myself inwardly pronouncing it that way.

Should it be pronounced "snall" as in "small"? That's what I've always done. I confess I didn't understand the correct pronunciation as described by the horse's mouth:

Code Master- n. 1. The master of 'the codez', and simultaneously the studliest man on the planet. 2. The only physical entity known to man capable of being both the master of 'the codez' AND the studliest man at the same time. Pronounced: Yes.

The most common mispronounciation I hear (on VOIP and such) of my name is saying "Jill", it's Gil, like the gill of a fish. Second part people mispronounce just because they don't sound it out or read it correctly, but it's Gal-von-tee or Gal-van-tee, either one.

Gill Gal-va(o)n-tee

I think mine's pretty self-explanatory. I mean, who doesn't say it veen-jay? duh.

Although, for the longest time I pronounced Zotoaster as Zoto-aster until he revealed in some thread a while back that it's Zo-toaster because he likes toast or something..

Uh, I think mine is pronounced "Lemonade." I'm not sure if you can grasp that though; 3 syllable words can be difficult sometimes.

So, is it Jaye-koo or Jeh-koo? I've been wondering about that for months...

Gee (as in "Gee wiz!") - Bark (as in a tree's skin, or what a dog does).

Also, I too thought it was flashing snail. I also thought bmac's name was "bmcazero" and was pronounced "Bee Em See Aay Zero".

Jeh-Koo

But the last part is a light oo, not as in pool, but more in a Japanese oo. What I mean is I can't spell it like you're supposed to say it, unfortunately. But yah, most people say Jeh-Koo with a hard oo sound, and that's good enough I only use this name because my Japanese teacher gave it to me.

With a "koo" sound? I don't know, maybe you would produce a slight "u" sound from that "oo" part being canadian and all, but I can't do that as it turns into an actual "oh" sound. But ク is pronounced like "ku".

My username is nothing but a bastardization of my surname (Vanbeck) enforced on me at an early age because people couldn't pronounce Andrew without me punching them in the face .

Van Bee, there should be a dash like Van-B, but the forum is dead set against dashes.

Am I the only one who reads it as Flashing Snall? After all they are 2 l's.

bmaczero, if the bmac were in caps, then maybe people would get it right.

My name is pronounced:

Mar-ge-ret Thatch-er

Thumbs up!

The 'ku' at the end of Seppuku is like the 'ku' in Jeku, so it's true! This makes Jeku and I related.

You're welcome.
A lot of people think that the first two letters of my name are zeros, they are not. A few people have thought it meant Double-Oh-Lite, which i suppose is cool in a way...
I also recently found out that my name is a game for Mac, although i took the name from the sedimentary rock formation composed of Ooids.
