Thanks I guess that's good! I've never read any of the books though, might have to check it out.

So I finished painting the rabbit today.

This is the first thing I finished on my new tablet, heh. It's a self portrait.

[edit] I finished this today, and it's my second drawing on a tablet, heh. It's titled, "This is the tablet that will pierce the heavens."

Hey there peeps. Thought I'd drop off some of my drawings. Did these in that last couple days. They are not original concepts, but pictures I thought were cool that I found on the internet. Threw them up on my monitor and penciled them into my sketchbook.

I could have spent more time making the lady's face better, but I'm gonna chalk it up to impatience and the area not being big enough to shadow it right.

There are some perspective issues going on, but I think the overall look turned out decent.

EDIT:
Here is another I did last night.

Made this one yesterday night for my profile picture, but inadvertently got myself carried away with lighting. So here the final upper body below. Made in Inkscape.

And this is the layer composition (Edit: Reduced to Link from image because of image size):

Thanks, MMM. It's a 3rd person horror game that I've been designing for a bit over a month. I've got a few friends to help with 3D and music but sadly no coders.

Some great looking pieces here, I especially like zeroSlave's pencil drawings. I'd like to see one of those done in ink, like a traditional comic book style.

Would be interesting to hear what tools you use, what software, even go into how you guys work - always helps people to get started when they know a couple of good techniques.

all your art is good, greenlig, but that might be my favorite (subject matter) so, we've seen reference to projects and games... anything 'complete'? ie, where can we see the art put to use outside this thread?

Thanks for the kind words, Nomad. Also, I haven't seen that blog in ages!! Cheers for the memories, haha.

To be honest, I don't get to use my art, at least this style, outside my personal enjoyment. I've worked as an artist on several games(Facebook, iPhone, PC, etc), and as an arcade game designer (www.laigames.com), but nothing that focusses on really putting my art together in a sweet game. I really don't know where I want to go with it though. I'd love to make a really ambient adventure game, or something with a bit of gravitas. At the moment, I'm just making art, and working on other games to pay the bills!

I do have a blog that I update every few months (driveabear.blogspot.com), and you can see some of my stuff there.

Awesome! I love your style so much. I'm really interested in how you do it/work.

Some art for a game called Hold The Fort! that my friend and I are developing in Unity. I like it so far, but I'm not sure if I'm entirely happy with the style.

Thoughts?

@ Fuzz - I like the simplicity of the assets you have there. One thing you can look at is the line work on your objects. What you have done there is tried to be very precise with the outlines, and it looks wobbly. The way to combat that is to draw things in one stroke. Practice the motion just above the page/tablet first, then make the stroke in one movement. It will give you cleaner edges!

Second, always think about the light-source. Draw the objects with their shape in mind, being careful to make it dark where light won't hit. Also, never use colour burn for shadows! Always use the ambient light, or a variation of that.

In the end, a lot of the quality of art comes down to lighting. Get that right and you'll go a long way to making things look spiffy.

Hope that doesn't sound too preachy!!

Awesome stuff Greenlig! You're style is very interesting and I love the way you paint your art.

I just wanted to drop by and show some of my recent stuff off a bit.

This one is inspired by a music video I'm rather fond of, and I was experimenting with some water color stuff a bit.

This is something I did today for a friend. I've been experimenting with pixel things a bit.

I felt like drawing a chick a while back, and this is what came of it, heh.

Hah, recognise the first one mate. Great film clip. Also, love the character. Very cute, great technique.

I've been away from my art stuff for a little while now, as I'm working out a contract to move overseas and make arcade games again. Busy times, visas are a pain. BUT I did manage to do a few quick paintings. This one is probably the pick of them at the moment.

Cheers,

Hey! I totally forgot that this thread exists
Lets hope I can blatantly copy things from tumblr.

Drawn FPSC assets. Second one was rushed to be worked into a loadingscreen.

Tattoo'esque designs. First one is titled "lesbians" second one "meditate"

This is a pencilsketch for a larger painting I'm working on.
These are rather dated but its all I can post for now without spamming the board.
I'd like to show some of my portraits from the recent months but my computer refuses to accept the card of my digitalcamera and I dont have a scanner.
