Thanks! Well, its not the first time I hear that so I guess its true.

Yours on the other hand is very warm and cudly Its quite surprising concidering your older modeling work. Do you use watercolors or a tablet?

Here is a doodle. I was thinking about maybe developing the character more and perhaps modeling it. IDK.

@Wolf

Heh, warm and cuddly would probably be an accurate way to describe it, yes. I'm surprised anyone even remembers that I used to do 3d watch-a-majigs as well, heh. I'm a tablet guy myself though. Bamboo Capture, relatively cheap and easy to get used to, me thinks. ^^ I tend to stay away from traditional art, mainly because I'm less familiar with it.

Are you kidding! I was really disappointed to find so little of you in the TGC store I still use a lot of the props you made for fpscreator.

Ah, I believe you may be confusing me with the older forum member named 'Cheesecake', heh. I didn't know he existed until after I had already created my account, and after looking around a bit, it seems he was rather proficient in 3d (much more than I). Speaking of Cheesecake, I haven't seen him active since before I joined, so it's hard to tell what he's doing now-a-days.

White chalk on black paper.

Something a little different, a mural this time, was a school hall which I painted, went from dawn till dusk back to dawn around the entire room. It was a very large room with a lot of alcoves and corners. This is a small portion of it.

This was a different school, sometimes I would ask the kids what they would like to be included, hence the licker appearing in this one.

Eh, I believe he did it to avoid stretching the page for those with a smaller monitor (such as people like myself). Though if that wasn't why he did it, then may I ask you to not stretch the page? I'm not trying to be rude, it's just much easier to browse without stretching.

@Rolfy

Considering the type of thread this is, I figured it made no difference, as it is by far, not the widest image on this thread...

@rolfy: I always like to see a skilled digital artist being even better in traditional medium. Your work is simply massive! You like Dali, don't you?
Didn't a teacher have an opposition to the rather creepy appearance of that licker?

@Mr.Valentine: Nice ! I'm surprised that something as generic as RE6 inspired you to paint, but then again: Whatever gets you going!!

Yeah I did it simply to avoid the page stretching (unless you guys don't really mind haha), but yeah I mean, until I get a little better acquainted with my own style of painting I've been just recreating some generic images/characters (Jake, link from zelda, etc.)

Link (about a half hour of work, a test to myself)

Haha that's true, I guess I could've put two and two together

I've been sketching up an original idea so hopefully within the next few days I'll have something to show for it. Btw, anyone using one of those drawing tablets, and if so, any complaints/things I should know about them/recommendations? I've never used one actually, but I've been looking into a few different models trying to figure out which one to buy

I have one of these, all I can say is, it comes down to your experience, and getting to grips with hand, screen orientation...

I cannot think of much else to mention, other than getting an extended USB cable to get more freedom in movement , those chunky buttons are lifesavers! and feel awesome with the slate effect

Nice! Wacom seems like a great brand, I've actually looked into that as well as http://www.amazon.com/Wacom-Intuos5-Touch-Tablet-PTH450/dp/B0076HMDQO/ref=sr_du_6_map?ie=UTF8&qid=1354154580&sr=8-6 . The experience shouldn't be too much of an issue, I've been drawing as long as I can remember (ink is probably my most preferred medium.. oil pastel is a close second). I'll grab a few of my drawings as well and put em up here tonight

I'll be posting some more too then:

I actually had the idea for this as I made a photography seemless for a watershadereffect. I wanted the faces to tile on the drawing aswell with all of them being slightly different. They ended up bein a bit more different than I anticipated but I still like the result.

You might not have guessed it but this is on an DIN A2 sheet.

Wolf- That's awesome my man. I love how widely varied the styles of everybody are. I guess that's what makes art art though

I guess I never got around to scanning some of my drawings. Aaah well, eventually hahah. I've been working on 2D game assets. Working on 64 x 64 tiles here, and can really use some critique!

(Tried working on a tree here, but like the dumbass I am, I made it entirely too small )

(Test map I made to try out some of these.)

If anybody needs something made, I can give it a shot. Any of these are free to use for whatever as they were meant purely for experience. I've always had a passion for 2D games (jrpgs in particular)

Attached is a basic template I made specifically for my tile creation. It also makes it easier to locate individual tiles, so use it as you wish. I did my best to make each of these as seamless as possible. The only tile that gave me problems was the stone tile

So I decided to make a new account finally (Formerly da_power_pwnerer). I absolutely HATED my old forum name haha. That's what you get for making an account when you're 12 or 13 though. I'm 19 now, so I've been here for a pretty long while. I've learned a whole lot along the way so it's time to start anew. Nice to re-meet all of you I guess!

Now that Josh posted this neat clean sketch, I think I'm entitled to post some of my dirty work:

Top three: rough sketches
Fourth: charcoal
Fifth: sanguine
last: colored pencils.

I left out my aquarelle version because it was rather lame...to put it in teenielingo.

You can scroll through more stuff in the serygalacaffeine gallery linked to in my sig if you like.

Something a little different:

Animated in Photoshop. Did everything myself aside from the audio, which is royalty free sound effects from http://www.freesound.org/. A fantastic source for audio, if you ask me. But yeah, made it for a youtube channel a friend and I have planned. It's the longest animation I've ever done myself, and I'm rather happy with it, honestly. Took around 3 days.

I take your word for it

Speaking of dirty, I appologize for the grainy soup I present here. It kind off reminds me of my earlier game projects
You just have to believe me that its really detailed..it was just rather hard to get a good picture of it. Its an A2 sized drawing and less easy to manage than smaller ones.
It bases on sumerian carvings with some modern esoteric theorys mixed in...from spaaaace! . The little dots in the wings are actually eyes and these lines some more runes and scribbles. The reflective acrylpaste on it looks pretty cool on the original but slightly out of place on the postprocessing. Either way! Just take my word that the original looks less rough

Even though its just a drawing...censored to be on the save side =P

And lastly, I guess video sort of counts as 2D art? Anyway, I've been working on various animations and I have one which I can post a youtube link for if any of you want to check it out. It's not really that impressive, but hey it's something! It's a little commercial I created.
