I just came across this new art program called Alchemy last night and thought a few of you would get a kick out of it. Check out the website and look at the video on the front page AND the top video on the video page. I downloaded it and have been addicted to it for the past several hours.

What's really interesting here is how the brain uses it's incredible shape recognition power to see some truly incredible, unique stuff in each of these drawings. This is an AWESOME program for coming up with quick concepts and unique character/level ideas.

Everyone should download it and post some of their work!

NOTE: This program is still in it's alpha stages, so their might be a few bugs (but none that I have encountered thus far). Their are features still missing too as well, like the undo button, but it's kind of a blessing in disguise because it forces you to keep what you have!

Just some crazy results that I've gotten so far:

Yeah, apparently have to give them your email, but it's worth it. I totally want to receive updates on this as they come out.

WOW! That thing is amazingly cool, I was able to to create a cool shape that i then edited in Paint.net and is now my new background. Here's the raw image of what i got from Alchemy:

Very cool tool. I also really looked the video where he used the image he got in alchemy to create that alpha mask in Zbrush. Nice find sinister.

Thanks I thought you guys would like it! I'm waiting for our talented graphic design members to find this thread now. BigAdd, I'm talking to you sir

While I think it's a bit... useless (maybe I'm wrong), but that whole creating art with noise bit in the intro video was pretty cool.

I saw some art pages at DeviantART the other day of characters done with this - they were awesome, I figured I would check it out. I still have yet to get it.

EDIT:

Aha!

The tools don't seem to be too different from flash.

I own flash but have yet to actually use it, so I wouldn't know. I've never used Autodesk Sketchup either, but I know it has the mirror function as well. I wish photoshop had a mirror feature. It's very useful.
