I don't know, but my MP3 player (I hate when people use the word iPod in place of anything else) says there's plenty of threads like this already.

Oh and I know what you mean about the whole "iPod" expression.

You like Huey Lewis and the News?

Their early work was a little too New Wave for my taste. But then Sports came out in 1983, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically.

The whole album has a clear, crisp sound and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that gives the songs a big boost.

He's been compared to Elvis Costello but I think Huey has a more bitter, cynical sense of humor.

In '87 Huey released Fore!, their most accomplished album. I think their undisputed masterpiece is "Hip To Be Square," a song so catchy that most people probably don't listen to the lyrics. But they should because it's not just about the pleasures of conformity and the importance of trends. It's also a personal statement about the band itself.

Breaking Benjamin
Epica
Hoobastank
Kamelot
Linkin Park
Muse
Nickelback
Nightwish
Opeth
Papa Roach
Rise Against
Santana
Seether
Serj Tankian
Slipknot
System of a Down
Three Days Grace

I have to say, it is very odd to listen to on random shuffle. Muse and Opeth should never be played back to back, lest bipolar disorder sets in.

Metallica
SOAD
Pearl Jam
Tool
KoRn
Faith No More
NiN

I tend to go for whole discography's, it's always nice to listen to an album in the order that the artist intended, especially bands like Pearl Jam and NiN. I like to listen to Faith No More's Angel Dust from start to finish when I can't sleep - ends with a really nice cover of Midnight Cowboy, perfect .
I hate iPods and much prefer my little 4gb Creative Zen player. For one thing it only cost me £30, and for another it sounds great with my Bose in-ear's.

Queen
Snow Patrol
Westlife
Theory of a Deadman

Quite a lot of random stuff, and no real set genre there =)

I only have the album Somewhere Else, I have been meaning to check out more of their albums as I quite like it.

Quote: "I tend to go for whole discography's, it's always nice to listen to an album in the order that the artist intended, especially bands like Pearl Jam and NiN"

Agreed. The only time I don't listen to an album in order is when driving to and from work, as the journey is longer than an average album lasts.

@ pok: Basically, in my humble (and biased) opinion, More Than a Feeling, Peace of Mind, and Foreplay/Long Time are the best ones on their first album.

@ MIDN90: I get mine from either...

b) CDs

Same, I always make a point to download the whole album when I find something I like. I just can't stand having an artist taking up space in my library for the sake of two or three songs. It's a bloody compulsion!

Well Abingdon School is the school Radiohead went to. And the leader singer of ABS likes Radiohead, so, for some reason they named the band that.

Interesting. Myself, I only put songs that I actually want to listen to. What's the point of having all the filler junk in there too? Doesn't make sense to me, unless you actually plan on listening to it.

You have a good point, but when I listen to stuff, I'll sometimes listen to the entire album(sometimes not). If there is a song I absolutely hate, of course I'll remove it though. I haven't had a problem with running out of space yet, so my views might change when I get there.
